Beauty Buzz | Jane Iredale Amazing Base Loose Mineral Powder SPF 20

IMG_4564xx

The Amazing Base Loose Mineral Powder SPF 20 is simply wonderful. I have been using it for months as I wanted to test it out thoroughly before recommending it because I have had bad luck with mineral foundations in the past. I am usually cautious about mineral foundations as I have dry skin and I notice that the loose powder can often make dry skin more noticeable and many mineral foundations contain Bismuth Oxychloride and Talc both of which can cause itchiness, breakouts and skin sensitivity which puts many people off to the idea of mineral foundations in general. Another huge thing with mineral foundations is that many do not contain much or enough coverage depending on your preference.

The Amazing Base is truly miraculous at building product without ever looking cakey and providing beautiful coverage. I use the color “Light Beige” which suits my fair complexion perfectly. I highly recommend this to anyone who is a fan of mineral foundations or who has had bad experiences in the past and is looking for one that will do the job of covering what needs to be covered all while looking natural, flawless and without causing skin irritations.

Benefits:

  • Provides Broad Spectrum SPF 20 and UVA P++ protection that is water resistant for up to 40 minutes.
  • Provides exceptional coverage, including redness and brown spots.
  • Free of oil, talc, dyes and parabens.
  • Ideal for people who suffer from skin problems such as eczema or rosacea.
How To Use:

  • Remove the seal or puncture holes for controlled flow of the minerals. Replace lid, turn upside down and tap. The minerals are now released into the sifter.
  • Cleanse the face and moisturize.
  • Lightly dip each side of our Chisel Powder Brush into the minerals. Tap off any excess using the side of the jar.
  • Using the lid, work the minerals into the brush until all powder is absorbed.
  • Apply the minerals in thin layers using downward strokes. If you’ve put on too much, use our Flocked Sponge to remove any excess. Begin application where you want the most coverage, then lightly layer over the rest of the face. Don’t forget your neck.
  • Apply Absence Oil Control Primer to smooth the surface of the skin before putting on the minerals. Absence controls oil and helps prevent color change. Good for dry skins, too.
  • If the minerals look powdery, wait a few minutes for the skin’s natural oils to emerge, or spritz with D2O, Balance or POMMISST.
  • To “pull” the center of the face out and give more definition to the overall look, use a lighter base in the aesthetic triangle and a darker one on the perimeter.
  • Less is more. It’s better to layer the minerals than try to cover everything at once. You will be surprised at how much coverage you get with very little product.

Active Ingredients: Titanium Dioxide 14%, Zinc Oxide 6%. Ingredients: Mica, Boron Nitride, Zinc Stearate, Dimethicone, Stearic Acid, Plankton Extract, Algae Extract, Punica Granatum (Pomegranate) Extract. May Contain: Iron Oxides, Ultramarines, Chromium Oxide Greens.

I like to use the Amazing Base with the Chisele Brush and the D20 Hydration Spray which helps to prime and set the minerals.

Interview with May Lindstrom of May Lindstrom Skin

I am so excited and honored to bring you my very first interview here on BeautybyBritanie. My first interview is with May Lindstrom, owner and founder of the luxurious and completely natural skincare line May Lindstrom Skin which I have reviewed and raved about many times. May is a constant inspiration in my life, a kindred spirit and a friend. I can’t think of someone who embodies the definition of a natural beauty in every way more than May. From modeling to creating her own elite skincare company, being a devoted wife and a dedicated mother, she is truly an inspiration to all and a superwoman in my eyes! I was delighted to interview her and to find out more details regarding her daily essentials.

Read my interview with May below to learn more about what inspires this incredible natural beauty…

Your skin is flawless. Do you ever experiment with makeup and if so, any favorite brands, techniques, or products?

Thank you! My skin is always a work-in-progress. At thirty, it’s finally the best it has ever been. I have extreme chemical sensitivities and so am hyper-aware of what goes into the products I use. Luckily, there are so many incredibly gorgeous lines now that offer beautiful results without any compromises. I adore RMS both for the formulations and the simplicity of the collection. The Un Cover-Up and Living Luminator are staples in my beauty arsenal. Vapour also makes lovely foundation sticks that I love and I have a new crush on Kjaer Weiss cosmetics. I have only used the cream blush (amazing), but the packaging is so divine I have added every piece she makes to my wish list.  As for techniques – keep it light and fresh. For the skin, less is more. Even acneic skin looks better left to breathe, with just a wisp of creamy foundation to even out tone. A dab of color massaged into the cheeks, a highlight on the brow and cheekbone and maybe a little smoke on the eye for the evening. Lips need to be kissed, so I skip high maintenance color there.

What is one skincare rule that you will not compromise on?

Be kind to yourself. It is easy to get swept up in the promises of magical skincare products. The truth is, each person’s skin is so incredibly unique that there is no one answer, no miracle potion. It is always a balance – treating yourself well on the inside allows your radiance to shine on the outside. Nourish your body, feed your soul and treat your skin with tender care.

What does a typical day in the life of May Lindstrom consist of?

I wake up to my hungry baby girl poking my eyelashes or squeezing my lips with her tiny and inquisitive hands. We nurse, I slide a pot of rice onto the stove and gather a couple toys to bring into my studio so Talia can play while I check my morning emails. I make a list of new orders that have come in and pull out stationary to write the notes that are sent out with my packages. If I am running low on inventory, I’ll blend fresh batches of Skin treats or put together boxes. Always, there is wrapping of goodies before they head out the door. A note, a bow, a little something extra, a lot of love.

At some point I’ll remember to eat, take the rice off the stove, toss in some greens, oils, whatever vegetables are floating around in my refrigerator, maybe a big spoonful of kimchi (I’ve started to make it myself, so much fun!) and toasted sesame seeds. This is breakfast, which usually happens more towards lunch.

After, my daughter goes down for a nap and I work as fast as I can. Balancing life as a stay-at-home mom and the founder, formulator and general do-er of all things for my company has proven to be equal parts amazing and challenging. It turns out, I am not superwoman. If emails could collect dust, mine would rival any bunnies that hunker under beds.

Evenings are precious. My husband is home and we get to have family time. Usually I will cook, sometimes we will go for a walk with our yellow lab, Rex. We listen to music, dance around and love on each other. More often that I’d like, we sink into the couch and watch a movie or whatever reality cooking show is airing – Master Chef, Hell’s Kitchen, etc. It’s entertaining enough and gives me an opportunity to just sit and snuggle my husband. We both tend to do to much, for too many hours of the day, so we let this slide.

Before we fall asleep, my husband writes in his journal and I squeeze in cherished moments of wind-down time in the bath. It’s not always easy to do, but it’s important. I preach this constantly and make a valiant effort to follow my own advice. I believe in caring for yourself well, in taking the time to indulge in something delicious. For me, it’s this ritual. I slip into a bath (sometimes with my little daughter, and other times alone). When it is just me behind a closed door, it’s a full escape. I let the water be verging on too-hot, steam filling the room. The Clean Dirt gets massaged over my face and down to my shoulders, the spices bringing heat and my skin softening and releasing. If I have time, I break out The Problem Solver. 45 minutes with this and I feel and look like I’ve been on a spa vacation. I like my bathwater salty, like the ocean with a drizzle of essential oils that vary with my mood. After, a couple pumps of The Youth Dew go over face, neck and decollete. The Good Stuff from the bust down and an extra pump to smooth over my hair. I go to bed soft, warm, renewed. Bedtime is late. I sleep with my baby girl in my arms, my ankle curved around my husband’s calf.

How has being a new mother influenced you in regards to healthy living?

I enjoy healthful living and having a body that feels well fueled and properly nourished. Having Talia has simply reinforced that. I breastfeed and have high awareness that I am building her tiny body solely through what I take in.  There’s power in that and it humbles me. Just as big – my daughter reminds me of the importance of taking those moments of rest even when it feels impossible in my hectic day. She reminds me to appreciate the whirlwind, to be grateful and go all out. And at the end of the day, to let it go. That’s what she does. It’s beautiful to watch her sleep at night, knowing she has held onto nothing, held nothing back. And tomorrow, she’ll go full force again, learning something new, reaching a new milestone without a moment of fear.

What/who keeps you inspired?

My baby girl and my husband. Both who love me so enthusiastically that I literally overflow with it. Being loved like this makes me want to pour love on everyone, all the time. This pushed me to launch my line, to embrace new challenges personally and professionally. I have so much strength on my team. I’m crazy blessed.

Do you follow a specific philosophy when it comes to food?

(ie: vegan, nutritarian, raw food, paleo, etc)

I follow a primarily plant based diet. I believe in eating the rainbow. Fill your plate with deep greens, rich reds and oranges, bright yellows, deep blue and purple. Nature gives us visual cues to the nutritional density in our foods. My dinners look like a kaleidoscope. Grains and legumes are important and fats cannot be underestimated. I eat a lot, and often. Keep it fresh, think outside the box and mix it up.  Flood your cells with the very best quality food you can find and you will be rewarded in how you look and feel.

What are your favorite herbs and spices to work with?

In cooking, I use a lot of smoked paprika, cumin, warm and earthy spices. Really good salts. As we move into spring and summer, I crave something greener – fresh basil, fennel fronds, thyme. I adore sage.

Favorite beverage of choice? Coffee or Tea drinker?

I love coffee, but it makes me sleepy and jittery at the same time – an unfortunate combination. I do truly enjoy tea, largely for the ritual of preparing it. Nearly always with honey and always in a nice cup with a pretty spoon.

What does “beauty” mean to you?

Beauty is found in loving yourself well, creating your own romance and embracing your light. When we care for ourselves in this way, we radiate from the inside out.

If you had one piece of advice for anyone interested in switching over to all-natural products what would it be?

Focus on letting go of what isn’t contributing to your health, wellness and joy. Release it. New favorites will come in time, as the old ones did. You are embarking on a new adventure – it could be scary or it can be an incredible amount of fun. You choose that. When you let it be fun, it’s a playground! The selection of gorgeous and clean brands is multiplying every day, standards are raised higher all the time and the demand for something that is both beautiful and effective is creating a landscape of incredible options that have never existed like this. Embrace it and get swept up in the delight of discovery!

DIY | Ayurvedic Inspired Hydrating and Purifying Face Mask

IMG_3866 copy

One of my favorite things to do is to create different concoctions in my kitchen. I recently came up with this recipe after reading some of my favorite Ayurvedic books on beauty and health. Ayurveda is based on the premise that the mind and body are unified on the level of consciousness, and through this unifying “field” have direct reciprocal effects. Indeed, as the first psychoneuroimmunological science, Ayurveda has emphasized the causative role of thought and behavior in health and disease for thousands of years. As a result, when Ayurvedic practitioners see a skin problem, we observe the person who has it, not just the symptoms themselves.

In Ayurveda, “a line or a blemish on the face–like any sign of stress or illness– is only one puzzle piece in a diagnostic picture that encompasses the entire range of and individuals life, from the innermost aspects of mind and emotions to the outermost aspects of lifestyle and environment.”

One of my favorite Ayurvedic herbs, Triphala is an herb that I cannot be without. I decided to play around with mixing Triphala and some other powerful spices and eventually came up with this recipe and cannot even begin to tell you how amazing it has been for my skin. My skin literally glows after using this. I have also noticed that it gets rid of redness, prevents any acne from forming and leaves my skin feeling so hydrated and toned. I would recommend using this mask once a week to get the full benefits of this powerful skin miracle face mask!

The Ingredients:

IMG_3869c

  • Triphala – is an herb that I swear by. I even did an entire post on it here. I take it internally every night to cleanse but I also use it in my skincare regimen. It is one of the most powerful herbs you will ever come across and it is equally as beneficial internally as it is externally. I love to use the powder in face masks and cleansers.
  • Turmeric – renowned for its antiseptic and anti-inflammatory properties and helps reduce pigmentation on your face and even out your skin tone. Turmeric has also been dubbed the wonder product because of its ability to fight free radicals. Super anti-oxidant and is great for rashes and inflammation.
  • Nutmeg – I used nutmeg in one of my most recent diy face masks that I created for eczema and sensitive skin. It is so calming and soothing and ideal for irritated, sensitive, eczema or acne prone skin. When nutmeg is added to other healing herbs and spices it helps to further prevent inflammation, acne and skin irritations.
  • Raw Honey – probably my favorite skincare ingredient of all time. It is full of anti-bacterial and anti-microbial properties making it ideal for fighting blemishes.
  • Rose Petals – I added these petals to further boost skin-healing properties and to have aromatherapy benefits as roses can be extremely calming for the skin and the senses. The petals also help to add more exfoliation to this mask.

Directions:

  1. 1 teaspoon Triphala powder
  2. 1/2 teaspoon Turmeric
  3. 1 teaspoon Nutmeg
  4. 1 tablespoon Raw Honey
  5. 1/2 teaspoon Rose Petals

6

* Mix all ingredients together until the consistency is creamy like smooth peanut butter! Apply to a clean face and leave on for 10-15 mins. Gently exfoliate the mixture with warm water and then wash off with warm water or wash cloth. Note: You may have a slight redness to your face after using this mask but do not fear – that is a good sign that the blood is circulating and that you got rid of many dead skin cells! Once you apply a moisturizer, the redness should dissipate within a few minutes to fifteen minutes.

P.S. – It’s completely normal for your sink to be left over looking like this…

When you do this face mask you can also make it your sink-cleaning day as well! ;)

The creator of Pelle Beauty, Marnie Cipriani has been in the beauty industry for two decades as a Makeup Artist and is passionate about skincare. Her products are made with the most quality of ingredients and are all vegan, paraben and mineral oil free as well as being completely non-toxic. When Marnie contacted me to see if I was interested in trying out some of her products, I checked out her website and was instantly drawn to the Stellar Multitasking Facial Concentrate. I have really been into using only the purest of oils on my face lately. I love the way they make my skin look and feel. The Stellar oil is very unique in the way it quickly absorbs into the skin and the incredible softness that it leaves your skin feeling within just seconds of applying. I also am very fond of the scent. It is heavy in Sandalwood and Neroli which are two of my favorite essential oils. I have been using this every day since I received it and I can honestly say it is one of my favorite facial oils that I have ever used. Look forward to more upcoming posts featuring products from Pelle Beauty!

I took the photos above of myself after moisturizing with the Stellar oil. This oil gives me such a beautiful and natural glow to my face and cheeks. I LOVE it. This facial concentrate works great as a makeup remover at night but because I find the scent of this oil to be so refreshing and uplifting, I prefer to use it in the morning for priming and moisturizing. It wears so well under makeup and has been my go-to makeup primer as it seems to make my concealer or mineral foundation last longer and look more fresh, radiant and adds a very natural glow. You can purchase this oil on the Pelle Beauty website for $28.95

Beauty Buzz | RMS Beauty “Un” Cover-Up Review and Photos

IMG_2969xx

IMG_2978

I have never been a huge fan of full-coverage foundations as I really enjoy letting my skin breathe and I love to let my freckles peek through and to have a natural and yet luminous glow to my face. I usually opt for minerals to achieve this look but recently started using the RMS Beauty “Un” Cover-Up which doubles as a concealer and light foundation and gives me the perfect amount of light coverage without ever looking cakey or causing dryness due to the healthy oils in this product like organic Coconut, Castor and Jojoba oils.

 IMG_3008xx

IMG_3031x

You can see in these photo that the “Un” Cover-Up really lets my skin shine through. It doesn’t completely cover my freckles but it does even out any redness, especially around my nose area and it helps to decently cover my dark circles. I find that it doesn’t settle into the lines under my eyes or crease throughout the day, especially if I set it with powder. I also use the lightest color offered which is “11″ and it has a yellow tone to it which can sometimes be a little extra work to blend in at first but after a few minuets the color seems to adjust to my skin tone! Another great thing about this product is that it is build-able so if you are looking for a more than sheer coverage you can add more product and it never looks like you are wearing too much as it blends perfectly!

What It Is:

RMS Beauty “Un” Cover-Up is unlike typical concealers that can be heavy and drying to the skin. “Un” Cover-Up is formulated to enhance and nourish the skin where it needs it most. Use as a concealer or light foundation to give subtle, flawless, even coverage, banishing ruddiness, sallowness, redness, blemishes and darkness. Because this concealer contains such beneficial and clean ingredients it actually helps heal the skin while giving you a flawless, youthful coverage.

Ingredients:

organic cocos nucifera (coconut) oil*, organic ricinus communis (castor) seed oil*, organic cera alba (beeswax)*, organic theobroma cacao (cocoa) seed butter*, organic simmondsia chinensis (jojoba) seed oil*, tocopherol (non-gmo), organic rosmarinus officinalis (rosemary) extract*, may contain + / – : titanium dioxide ci 77891, iron oxides ci 77492, ci 77491, ci 77499.

How I use it:

This product is best when applied with fingers as the heat from your fingers will allow this cream product to melt seamlessly into the skin. I love to apply this with fingers and then use a damp Beauty Blender to smooth out everything after applying it with my fingers. I find this gives me the most natural and flawless coverage. I like to apply an oil or moisturizer before using this product because I have dry skin but because this product contains such moisturizing oils you do not have to moisturize before using this, especially if you have normal or oily skin.

DIY | Clarifying Rooibos Facial Toner

diycd

I love to use facial toners, especially during Spring and Summer months when the weather is warmer and extra hydration and oil control is needed. This DIY recipe is super easy to make and use and you will notice benefits almost immediately!

Facial toners are super hydrating and calming. There are many different recipes you can play around with and you can add in more ingredients or leave out any depending on your skin type and preference. I recommend using an essential oil in your toner for the extra aromatherapy and skin benefits. I chose to use Sandalwood as it’s very calming, soothing and hydrating.

You could substitute the Sandalwood for other essential oils like Lavender, Tea Tree, Geranium, Neroli, etc. I also chose to use Coconut water in my recipe but you could substitute the coconut water for rose or diluted water. If you have a sensitivity to Apple Cider Vinegar you can leave it out entirely but I like to use a small amount as I find it helps to tighten my pores and fight blemishes.

IMG_2683

I have tried many different combinations and this recipe is the one that works best for my skin. I love to use this toner after cleansing my face and before moisturizing.

IMG_2700x

What You Will Need:

  • Rooibos Tea – This is the main ingredient in the facial toner. The benefits of Rooibos for skin and health are endless. It’s great for dry skin, eczema, acne and plumping the skin.
  • Coconut Water – You can use this in place of water for added skin-loving benefits like extra hydration and anti-aging benefits.
  • Apple Cider Vinegar – ACV is wonderful for deep cleaning the skin and getting right down into the pores and shrinking them!
  • Sandalwood Oil – Great for sensitive skin and those with eczema (mine is diluted in Jojoba Oil but you could also use pure Sandalwood – or skip the Sandalwood)

IMG_2693x

IMG_2705x

IMG_2706x

What To Do:

  • Add 1 heaping tablespoon of Rooibos Tea to teapot and add boiling water, let steep for atleast 15 minutes – do not pour tea into bottle or other storage container until it is cooled down.
  • While the Rooibos is steeping, add 2 teaspoons of Coconut Water into bottle or jar of choice. Add 1/2 teaspoon – 2 teaspoons of Apple Cider Vinegar into same bottle (the amount will depend on your preference. if you have more oily skin and battle with acne you may want to add more of the ACV. I like to only use 1 teaspoon as I have more normal to dry skin and don’t need the extra amount of vinegar. Stir the Coconut Water & ACV.
  • Add in 2-5 drops of diluted (or pure) Sandalwood Oil.
  • When the Rooibos Tea is cooled down, pour the desired amount into bottle or jar and stir or shake (with the top on!) until the mixture is well blended.

IMG_2712xx

IMG_2718x

IMG_2719

Use a cotton ball, pad or spray bottle to apply the mixture to your face! I like to use two cotton pads morning and night after washing my face.

IMG_2743

Storage:

Because this toner contains no preservatives it will only stay fresh for a few weeks. I would recommend keeping in the fridge if you want it to last even longer. I keep it in my bathroom but use it daily and make a fresh batch every week or two. You can always add Vitamin E to this mix to act as a natural preservative and make it last longer!

Beauty Buzz | Stark Skincare Grapefruit Cleanse + Hydrate Balm

stark copy

This is one product that I have been wanting to get my hands on for so long now. I was so excited to receive this balm which is handmade in Montreal by the founder of Stark Skincare, Jessica. Before even applying this dreamy balm to my face, I fell in love with the consistency and the smell! The consistency is so creamy and applies like a dream to the skin. It smells like fresh Grapefruit and instantly wakes me up in the morning. I love to use this as a deep cleansing treatment. I will put a small amount of this on my skin, massage it in and let it sit for 5-15 minutes and then I take a very warm wash cloth and put it on my face and let that sit for a minute, then I slowly start to wipe the balm residue off but I like to have some left over on my skin because it doubles as a moisturizer also! This balm is fantastic. The size and amount of product given for how little you need, combined with the brilliance and multi-tasking purposes of this product make it well worth the price of $40. This is also great for using on the lips, hands, hair, everywhere!! A little more info on this delicious balm…

Description

This highly nutritious, water-less balm has the unique concept of being both cleanser and hydrator, making life simple and beautiful. Similar to the “oil cleansing method” popular in Europe or the cold-creams our mothers and grandmothers used, this delicious balm melts away daily grime and dirt, replenishing your skin with healthy, antioxidant-rich plant-derived oils and butters! Next, the balm can be used as a moisturizer, alone or with Stark’s CYPRESS Purity + Defense oil (an especially luxurious treat for a night-time ritual).

How to Use

Use a pea sized amount, and warm between fingers. Massage into skin and let the nutritious oils and butters be soaked up before gently wiping away with a warm, wet cloth. You may splash with water if you like. Next, it can be used as a moisturizer for face, body, lips and hair! Use on dry elbows, parched lips or fly-away hair or as a great after-shave balm!

Benefits

Grapefruit extract is cleansing and has astringent properties. Wonderful for occasionally problematic skin, also gentle enough for dry, sensitive skin. Has a wonderful, fresh aroma that is uplifting and invigorating. This balm smells absolutely mouth-watering.

Un-processed Shea butter and raw organic cocoa butter heal, soften and protect skin with a light, natural SPF. Both have a rich history of use in Africa, which is now backed by scientific studies, they are highly healing butters that can undo some of the damage done by the sun.

Virgin organic coconut oil, long used in the Ayurveda tradition, has anti-inflammatory, anti-bacterial and anti-fungal properties due to its high content of fatty acids.

Non-GMO soybean butter is chock full of isoflavones and stimulates collagen production. It is also rich in antioxidants and is an anti-inflammatory.

Organic camellia seed oil (same plant as green tea) and organic sweet almond oil are light, soothing and healing oils, and are known to slow the aging process.

Notes

This product is preservative-free, so please wash and dry hands before scooping product out and please do not get any water in the balm. Water and oil are not friends! :) Use a clean teaspoon to scrape a small amount of product out, to prolong the life of your balm even longer. With proper handing, this product can stay fresh for up to 18 months.

Green Beauty Collaboration | Products I’d Repurchase

My good friend Brianna had a brilliant idea of collaborating with other green beauty bloggers to do a tag where we either make a blog post or video (or both) showing and talking about the products we would or have repurchased. You can see her original post and rules here. I thought this was a great idea and knew that I wanted to participate since I am a lover of beauty products and I would definitely repurchase more items that I own but these were the main ones that came to mind.

If I were to run out of any of these I would have to immediately go find them! I ended up picking 16 – I went a little overboard!

MAKEUP:

IMG_2605x

  1. Physician’s Formula Organic Wear Bronzer – I love this bronzer because it is great for my fair skin. I also love that it’s affordable and easy to find!
  2. Jane Iredale Glow Time BB Cream – The best liquid foundation/tinted moisturizer I have yet to find. This BB cream provides full coverage and a beautiful long-lasting finish.
  3. Jane Iredale Amazing Base Mineral Foundation – My new HG foundation. I don’t know how I managed to go so long without this foundation. I love it so much. It gives the perfect amount of coverage and doesn’t irritate my skin like many mineral foundations tend to do. It is talc and bismuth-oxychloride free and great for sensitive skin!
  4. Vapour Organic Beauty Muti-Use Blush – Courtesan is my favorite blush shade, possibly ever. I wear this blush whenever I wear makeup. It goes on so creamy and lasts all day. I am a huge fan of all of Vapour’s products but their blushes are one of my favorite items.
  5. RMS Beauty Living Luminizer – Wonderful, must-have product. There are so many uses for this. It instantly brightens any area of the face.
  6. Gabriel Cosmetics Lipstick – This lipstick color in “Pomegranate” is my all-time favorite red lipstick. It is perfect and is also gluten-free!
  7. MarieNatie Cosmetics Lip Gloss – I have done a review on these glosses before. This color is “Love Struck” and it’s the perfect bright pink shade.
  8. Jane Iredale Circle/Delete Concealer – Such a wonderful concealer! I plan to do a review on this and show how amazing this concealer works for dark circles.

SKINCARE:

  1. Suki Skincare Exfoliate Foaming Cleanser – I love this cleanser because the tiniest bit goes the longest way. I love how it lathers and cleanses my face. I only use this once a week and have had amazing results. It also smells so fresh like lemon-grass!
  2. SkinOwl Geranium Argan Infusion Oil – I recently did a review on all of SkinOwl’s Argan Infusion Oils. I am obsessed with all of the oils but especially the Geranium. It suits my skin type so well and moisturizes beautifully. My skin has never looked softer and more supple since I started using this oil.
  3. Weleda Almond Soothing Facial Cream – My new HG facial cream. This helps my dry skin and is so calming. I have already repurchased another tube!
  4. Alba Botanica UN-Petroleum Jelly – I use this for deep cleansing on my face, for my lips, hands, body and for dry patches on my skin. This is a wonderful product.
  5. Osmia Organics Honey-Myrrh Lip Repair – My all-time favorite lip product that I cannot be without. I always have a back up of this. review here.

HAIR & BODY:

IMG_2610x

  1. Dr Bronner’s Liquid Castile Soap – I have a bunch of these liquid soaps around my house. I use this to wash my hands, body and sometimes my hair.
  2. Shea Moisture Raw Shea Butter Deep Treatment Masque – I recently discovered this line at Target and was so excited to see that they were selling organic and natural products. This hair masque was $7.99 and although it says it is for “dry, damaged hair” it works great on all types and leaves my hair feeling so silky and soft.
  3. Bijabody Daily Body Serum – Best smelling body product I have ever used. I love that this is a spray bottle so you can easily spritz this oil on your damp skin after getting out of the shower and it moisturizes so well. The beautiful scent lasts all day and leaves your skin looking silky and beautiful!

Beauty Buzz | SkinOwl Argan Infusion Oils

logo

SkinOwl is an all-natural skincare line made with quality ingredients, responsible packaging, and an emphasis on philanthropy. Where Skincare becomes Selfcare.

IMG_2553x

I am SO excited to talk about my newest skincare obsession: SkinOwl. I was immediately attracted to the packaging of these oils and the name of the brand as I am a lover of owls. After I read through the entire website and watched the video about the founder of SkinOwl, Annie Tevelin and her struggles with skin issues and her passion behind the brand, I knew I had to try it and I am SO happy that I did because I am truly and deeply in love with these infusions!

There are three different Argan Infusion Oils in the SkinOwl line to choose from depending on your skin type and preference.

Here is a little bit about each infusion:

ARGAN INFUSION: GERANIUM

My Thoughts:

I am so impressed with this line, the story behind it and the beautiful benefits I have achieved in just a few short weeks of using these oils. I am personally in love with all three of these infusions. The Lavender is my favorite for spot treating and using at night or in especially dry areas (and on my body + lips). The Clary Sage is wonderful for a pick-me-up in the morning and my favorite for using under my eyes and hands. If I had to choose just one I would choose Geranium as it seems to be the best fit for my skin and the one that I reach for and use the most. I also find the scent to be intoxicating and immediately relaxing. I like to apply all of these on a dampened face and massage them in for a few minutes. They really skin into the skin without leaving any oily residue and have helped to moisturize my skin and have cleared up any blemishes!

I have used Argan Oils in the past but never seemed to really fall in love with the brands I was using. There is something about these blends that really works so well for my skin and that I notice immediate results from. I love that the Argan is infused with other essential oils to create specific blends that are beneficial to so many different skin conditions and types. These oils are my newest obsession and I plan to purchase a full size of at least one, if not all three of them. I am also very intrigued by their Eye Cream which I plan to try soon!

Have you ever tried these oils or the eye cream from SkinOwl? Which infusion would you want to try most?
