The creator of Pelle Beauty, Marnie Cipriani has been in the beauty industry for two decades as a Makeup Artist and is passionate about skincare. Her products are made with the most quality of ingredients and are all vegan, paraben and mineral oil free as well as being completely non-toxic. When Marnie contacted me to see if I was interested in trying out some of her products, I checked out her website and was instantly drawn to the Stellar Multitasking Facial Concentrate. I have really been into using only the purest of oils on my face lately. I love the way they make my skin look and feel. The Stellar oil is very unique in the way it quickly absorbs into the skin and the incredible softness that it leaves your skin feeling within just seconds of applying. I also am very fond of the scent. It is heavy in Sandalwood and Neroli which are two of my favorite essential oils. I have been using this every day since I received it and I can honestly say it is one of my favorite facial oils that I have ever used. I took the photos above of myself after moisturizing with the Stellar oil. This oil gives me such a beautiful and natural glow to my face and cheeks. I LOVE it. This facial concentrate works great as a makeup remover at night but because I find the scent of this oil to be so refreshing and uplifting, I prefer to use it in the morning for priming and moisturizing. It wears so well under makeup and has been my go-to makeup primer as it seems to make my concealer or mineral foundation last longer and look more fresh, radiant and adds a very natural glow. I haven’t made a video in a very long time and figured I would film myself getting ready today. This is a very easy and quick makeup look – nothing dramatic. I like this look because it’s fast and really subtle but gives me color and makes me feel “made up” so to speak :) I also am really loving all of the products I used in this video.

I have fallen back in love with the Jane Iredale BB Cream which I hadn’t used in awhile because I was testing out other products but recently went back to and I am reminded of why I loved it so much to begin with. It’s perfect for Spring and Summer and I love that it has added SPF and moisturizing properties as well as really great, build-able coverage. I also used RMS Beauty’s Lip2Cheek in “Smile” for the second time since winning the amazing giveaway over at Roost Blog and it’s such a beautiful color! It instantly brightens up my complexion and the littlest bit goes such a long way!

I am so happy to have discovered this beautiful and passionate brand. I have fallen deeply in love with both of these oils. I love to use the Pure Argan Oil to moisturize my face at night and to put through my damp hair after showering. I also love it for using around my eyes. Yesterday was a magical day in my own enchanted little forest that I am lucky enough to now call my home. My best friend Natasha came by and we had a few cups of tea, lots of guacamole and chips and spent much time in the garden and the backyard taking in the beautiful views and taking photos together. Natasha was styled in a beautiful retro outfit and I was sporting the more bohemian look. Instead of clashing in photos together which we thought would end up happening, we were actually surprised at how well the photos came out of us together. She nicknamed my look “Pocahontas” because of my accessories :)

This dress is so comfortable and I love the flower print on the bottom half and the polka dots on the top of this. I had to wear leggings because it’s been chilly here in New York but I am hoping for warmer weather soon! I think this dress is cute with leggings and boots and would also look great with just a pair of flip flops! I can’t wait to wear more cute dresses this Spring!

For today’s Tea Time post I bring you a review and giveaway of the delicious Belight Tea which is an herbal tea blend of pu-erh tea plus 5 Chinese medicine herbs including: Sacred Lotus Leaf, Chinese Hawthorn Fruit, Gynostemma, Hemp Seeds, and Cassia Seeds.

A deep understanding of the principles of Chinese medicine indicates the tea and herbs in Belight may:

I have been drinking this tea for a few weeks now and I love the taste of it. I prefer not using honey to sweeten this tea because it has such a earthy flavor to it that doesn’t require sweetness (although it is delicious with honey as well!) I don’t drink this tea specifically for weight loss but I have noticed that my tummy feels and looks flatter after I drink this regularly and my clothes are fitting better as well. If you aren’t looking to lose weight, you can still drink this tea as it’s benefits are more than just weight loss and are beneficial to have daily for regular and healthy digestion and metabolism.

I have really been loving coral cheeks and bright lips for Spring and I have been obsessed with Tinted Lip Balms! I recently bought the Josie Maran Argan Beauty Eyeshadow Palette in Purple and for this look I just used two colors from the palette. For this look I started out with a bb cream that also contains a high spf and dabbed a little concealer where needed. I also groomed and filled in my eyebrows. For my eyes I started with a cream shadow as a base and then added a little bit of the light purple shimmery color on top of the cream shadow and then lightly lined my lower lids with it as well. For more depth I used some black eyeliner just on the outter part of my top and bottom lashline. I added a light golden shimmery color on the inner corners of my eyes to brighten up my entire eye area. I dabbed a little cream blush on the apples of my cheeks and applied some bronzer on top to add more depth and more of a glow. Last but not least to complete this look I used some tinted lip balm!

I have never been a huge fan of full-coverage foundations as I really enjoy letting my skin breathe and I love to let my freckles peek through and to have a natural and yet luminous glow to my face. I usually opt for minerals to achieve this look but recently started using the RMS Beauty “Un” Cover-Up which doubles as a concealer and light foundation and gives me the perfect amount of light coverage without ever looking cakey or causing dryness due to the healthy oils in this product like organic Coconut, Castor and Jojoba oils.

You can see in these photo that the “Un” Cover-Up really lets my skin shine through. It doesn’t completely cover my freckles but it does even out any redness, especially around my nose area and it helps to decently cover my dark circles. I find that it doesn’t settle into the lines under my eyes or crease throughout the day, especially if I set it with powder. I also use the lightest color offered which is “11″ and it has a yellow tone to it which can sometimes be a little extra work to blend in at first but after a few minuets the color seems to adjust to my skin tone! Another great thing about this product is that it is build-able so if you are looking for a more than sheer coverage you can add more product and it never looks like you are wearing too much as it blends perfectly!

RMS Beauty “Un” Cover-Up is unlike typical concealers that can be heavy and drying to the skin. “Un” Cover-Up is formulated to enhance and nourish the skin where it needs it most. Use as a concealer or light foundation to give subtle, flawless, even coverage, banishing ruddiness, sallowness, redness, blemishes and darkness. Because this concealer contains such beneficial and clean ingredients it actually helps heal the skin while giving you a flawless, youthful coverage.

Ingredients:

How I use it:

This product is best when applied with fingers as the heat from your fingers will allow this cream product to melt seamlessly into the skin. I love to apply this with fingers and then use a damp Beauty Blender to smooth out everything after applying it with my fingers. I find this gives me the most natural and flawless coverage. I like to apply an oil or moisturizer before using this product because I have dry skin but because this product contains such moisturizing oils you do not have to moisturize before using this, especially if you have normal or oily skin.

I wanted to get dolled up to go into the city on Saturday night for dinner to meet up with one of my very best friends in the whole world, Nour. We met online a little more than two years ago and became close instantly. We have skyped and talked a million times but to actually see her in person was such an amazing experience. I felt instantly comfortable and we had such a blast. Matthew and I drove into the city to meet up with Nour and her boyfriend Miguel who is so sweet and hilarious! It’s always a bonus when your friends other halves get along so well. We had such great conversations and every now and then me and Nour would leave the boys at the table to go into the bathroom and take photos together haha

I originally started corresponding with Wildlife Works and was sent this amazing shirt more than a few months ago but have been so busy with moving to a new house and organizing that it took me awhile to get these photos up. I decided to pair this outfit with some beautiful handmade and eco-friendly jewelry from the lovely The Hemp Butterfly who I recently mentioned on my blog. The weather is finally starting to get warmer and it was so beautiful out today.

DIY | Clarifying Rooibos Facial Toner

I love to use facial toners, especially during Spring and Summer months when the weather is warmer and extra hydration and oil control is needed. This DIY recipe is super easy to make and use and you will notice benefits almost immediately!

Facial toners are super hydrating and calming. There are many different recipes you can play around with and you can add in more ingredients or leave out any depending on your skin type and preference. I recommend using an essential oil in your toner for the extra aromatherapy and skin benefits. I chose to use Sandalwood as it’s very calming, soothing and hydrating.

You could substitute the Sandalwood for other essential oils like Lavender, Tea Tree, Geranium, Neroli, etc. I also chose to use Coconut water in my recipe but you could substitute the coconut water for rose or diluted water. If you have a sensitivity to Apple Cider Vinegar you can leave it out entirely but I like to use a small amount as I find it helps to tighten my pores and fight blemishes.

I have tried many different combinations and this recipe is the one that works best for my skin. I love to use this toner after cleansing my face and before moisturizing.

What You Will Need:

  • Rooibos Tea – This is the main ingredient in the facial toner. The benefits of Rooibos for skin and health are endless. It’s great for dry skin, eczema, acne and plumping the skin.
  • Coconut Water – You can use this in place of water for added skin-loving benefits like extra hydration and anti-aging benefits.
  • Apple Cider Vinegar – ACV is wonderful for deep cleaning the skin and getting right down into the pores and shrinking them!
  • Sandalwood Oil – Great for sensitive skin and those with eczema (mine is diluted in Jojoba Oil but you could also use pure Sandalwood – or skip the Sandalwood)

What To Do:

  • Add 1 heaping tablespoon of Rooibos Tea to teapot and add boiling water, let steep for atleast 15 minutes – do not pour tea into bottle or other storage container until it is cooled down.
  • While the Rooibos is steeping, add 2 teaspoons of Coconut Water into bottle or jar of choice. Add 1/2 teaspoon – 2 teaspoons of Apple Cider Vinegar into same bottle (the amount will depend on your preference. if you have more oily skin and battle with acne you may want to add more of the ACV. I like to only use 1 teaspoon as I have more normal to dry skin and don’t need the extra amount of vinegar. Stir the Coconut Water & ACV.
  • Add in 2-5 drops of diluted (or pure) Sandalwood Oil.
  • When the Rooibos Tea is cooled down, pour the desired amount into bottle or jar and stir or shake (with the top on!) until the mixture is well blended.

Use a cotton ball, pad or spray bottle to apply the mixture to your face! I like to use two cotton pads morning and night after washing my face.

Storage:

Because this toner contains no preservatives it will only stay fresh for a few weeks. I would recommend keeping in the fridge if you want it to last even longer. I keep it in my bathroom but use it daily and make a fresh batch every week or two. You can always add Vitamin E to this mix to act as a natural preservative and make it last longer!
