What’s on my Wishlist…

WISHLISTTT

I’m back with my 6th wishlist! (Feel free to look back on my older wishlists! 12345.) This month’s wishlist has been inspired by many fellow bloggers. I haven’t done one in awhile because I like to really save the products that I truly am LUSTING over, not just wanting, because if I did it any other way it would be mile long! Most of these products have been on my radar for awhile now while a few others are new discoveries. Either way, I am coveting all of these. Why is it so exciting to discover new products? I love when I place an order and then my anticipation goes sky high waiting for the order to arrive…then unwrapping and opening the beautiful package. Best of all, trying out the new special creations! Who else is with me on this? How blessed are we to have all these choices?

  1. Balm Balm Frankincense Deep Cleansing Balm – I can’t get enough of cleansing balms. They are so lovely. I love to use them to remove makeup or to use as hydrating masks. I always look forward to using them at night as a part of my double-cleansing method. This balm was recommended by a fellow blogger, Fern & Moss, I saw her mention this a few times and I checked out the ingredients and was very impressed.
  2. Belle De Nuit Eye Mask – I have seen this mentioned lately on so many different sites. It seems incredibly relaxing and I could use all of the extra help I can get when it comes to a good nights sleep!
  3. Jade Facial Roller - Am I the only one that just thinks this seems like so much fun? I can just picture myself getting all relaxed before bed and bringing out this beautiful jade facial roller to use on my face and neck. It just seems so calming and decadent. Plus it has amazing reviews and is said to “rejuvenate face and neck skin”. We all want that!
  4. Inika Mineral Foundation – I am a huge mineral makeup fan. I seem to always revert back to applying minerals after using creams or liquids for awhile. I find they work with my skin the most naturally and are also the least reactive as they contain such simple ingredients. I’ve heard rave reviews about this particular mineral foundation and have been lusting after it for quite awhile now! It seems my color match would most likely be “Strength”, which by the way, makes me want it more. They have the best names for their colors. Love. Not to mention it’s an Australian company and I love, love, love Sydney!
  5. One Love Organics Cleansing Sponge – I won’t lie: I am attracted to cute packaging and this heart shape is no exception. The fact that it’s a heart is one thing and then knowing it’s made by OLO makes me want it even more. I know this baby would fit in perfectly with my products and look so cute doing it  :)
  6. ARCONA Gentle Solution – When I read this article interviewing Nicolle Mackinnon and Susannah Compton of No More Dirty Looks and read that Arcona Gentle Solution was the product that changed Nicole’s skin, I had to investigate. When I read the ingredients and saw that it’s specially formulated for sensitive skin, I knew I had to have it.
  7. Beauty Without Cruelty Concealer – I have just learned of this concealer thanks to this post by the lovely Annabel of Fragmented Splendour who also has this on her wishlist! What can I say? I want want want it. It seems so convenient to have a concealer in a pencil form like this, not only for travel but for on-the-go touch-ups and also to zero in at targeted areas. I love the simplicity of the ingredients and it has a crazy amount of amazing reviews
  8. Earth tu Face Cleanser – I first heard about this cleanser from one of my absolute favorite blogs out there, Free + Native. After I saw a few posts where this product was featured, I noticed more and more people were mentioning it and it peeked my curiosity. I am very impressed with the ingredients and am in need of a cleanser like this.
  9. Sunday Riley Juno Face Oil – This facial oil is described as “An enhancing, transformative lipid serum.” The beautiful Britta Aragon of CV Skinlabs mentioned this facial oil in my interview with her. That combined with the description of this oil as “obsession worthy glow” was enough to sell me on it! The ingredients sound so beautiful: Meadowfoam Seed Oil, Broccoli Oil, Carrot Oil, Chardonnay Grape Oil, Black Cumin, Cranberry Seed Oil, Berry Seed Blend (Blackberry, Blueberry, Raspberry). It says this oil is for all skin types including eczema prone.

Have you tried any of these products that I am lusting over? What is on YOUR wishlist? Share in the comments!!!

My Top Four: Favorite Affordable Facial Oils

fav

To say that I am a lover of facial oils would be a drastic understatement. I truly adore my oils and although I have quite the collection, I still am always lusting after more. There is no such thing as too many oils! With that said, I have a large collection of oils that are more on the expensive side and I know that it’s not realistic for everyone to spend $50-$100 on a small bottle of oil every few months. I do think some oils are worth the extra money and if you are interested in knowing what my favorite less-affordable but brilliantly amazing facial oils are then I will definitely make a post on those!

I get asked a lot which oils are great for the face but will not cost an arm and a leg. I have compiled a list of these top four oils which are all easily available, affordable and incredibly effective. I also chose all of these oils because in my opinion they are the best for all skin types. This list is in no particular order of favorites!!

  1. Badger Damascus Rose Antioxidant Face Oil ($15.27) – This is the most expensive oil of the bunch (still affordable!) and most definitely the most delicious smelling and decadent as well. It smells like a flower garden and is incredibly relaxing. It always gives my skin a beautiful glow and is very moisturizing. It is highly absorbent, antioxidant-rich and contains healing oils like Jojoba, Baobab, Pomegranate and more! This face oil is ideal for dry, mature or combination skin, but can be used on all skin types.
  2. Acure Organics Argan Oil ($13.49) – Coined as “liquid gold”, this is by far the most effective and affordable Argan Oil out there. It is 100% organic, rich in Vitamin E, Essential Fatty Acids and is lightweight and easily absorbed! This oil is not only great for the face, but I also love to use it on my cuticles, hands, and hair!
  3. Sibu Beauty Seabuckthorn Oil ($9.98) – I don’t usually like to choose favorites but I have to say that this is definitely my favorite out of the bunch. In-fact, Seabuckthorn Oil (berry & seed) is now my every day staple. It keeps eczema at bay and reduces redness. Seabuckthorn Seed Oil has been long used as a topical treatment to aid relief of skin conditions like eczema, acne, rosacea, dermaitits, age spots, you name it! It is truly an incredibly healing oil that I can never be without. I have literally gone through five bottles of this oil because I use it day and night!
  4. Aura Cacia Jojoba Oil ($12.12) – Jojoba Oil is the first oil I recommend to anyone who is starting out in the world of facial oils. Why? because it is it is nearly identical in chemical structure to the natural oils in skin and hair, and therefor is easily absorbed without leaving a greasy residue. Here’s another interesting fact: Jojoba Oil is not actually an oil, but a wax :) It also seems to be the the oil that responds best with all skin types from dry to sensitive to oily or acne-prone. It’s a staple-oil that I think everyone should have in their home!

Have you tried any of these Facial Oils? What are YOUR favorite affordable oils?

Makeup Look: Gypsy Goddess

GODDESS

I recently came across this beautiful hair piece from asos that I had lost amongst my many hair accessories for quite some time. When I found it I felt really inspired to do a dramatic gypsy goddess look. Although it’s Spring here and bright lip colors are what’s “in”, I still like to rock a good dark lip every now and then!

GODDESS2

Prep + Prime: Start by moisturizing the skin with a light but hydrating oil. I used Sibu Beauty SeabuckthornSeed Oil and added a light layer of Antipodes Vanilla Pod Hydrating Cream (review here) on top.

Correct + Conceal: To combat my stubborn dark circles I applied Kjaer Weis Cream Foundation in “Like Porcelain” (review here) to the under eyes and on the eyelids to act as an eyeshadow primer. I also used the Kjaer Weis foundation as a concealer around any other areas that needed covering (ie: nose, chin). I blended everything out with a beauty blender.

Bronze + Illuminate: Who doesn’t want dewy skin? For an extra “glowy” look I dabbed RMS Beauty Living Luminizer (for those sensitive to coconut oil – I also use and love Ilia Beauty’s Polkadots & Moonbeams Illuminator) to the highest part of my cheekbones, down the bridge of my nose and on my cupid’s bow. To add some color to my cheeks I blended RMS Beauty Buruti Bronzer (again if sensitive to coconut oil, try Ilia’s Sway Bronzer) and Lip2Cheek in “Smile” to the apples of my cheeks.

Eyes: I started off by applying a light layer of Red Apple Lipstick Eyeshadow in “Porcelain” all over my lid and brow-bone. I then applied Alima Pure Eyeshadow in “Orchid” all over the lid, making sure not to go into the crease. For my crease color I used Red Apple Lipstick’s Pressed Eyeshadow in the color “Vamp”. I blended all three colors together and lined just the outer part of my eye with the Zuzu Luxe Liquid Eyeliner. To bring out the purple from the Alima Pure eyeshadow I applied two coats of Dr. Hauschka Volume Mascara in “Aubergine” and added false lashes using EcoTools non-toxic glue.

Lips: I prepped my lips with Dr. Bronner’s Organic Lipbalm and added two layers of Ilia Beauty “Ink Pot” Lipstick. I used the actual lipstick to line my lips before coloring in.

Meet my new favorite day cream

antii2

When it comes to day creams and moisturizers I have had the hardest time finding “the one”. I don’t have an issue with nighttime moisturizing as I reserve most of my oils for nighttime. When it comes to day I prefer to wear a cream or moisturizer that will help my dry and sensitive and easily reactive skin, but not leave over a greasy residue. I also look for a cream without SPF. This might seem like a huge no-no to many of you but for me I prefer to use sunscreen in my mineral makeup or applied on top of my cream. I don’t want to HAVE to wear SPF as it tends to irritate my skin, even the natural ones. I prefer it when I can choose to use a sunscreen on it’s own or over top of a cream.

Next up is scent. Scent is a huge thing for me. I can’t handle overly scented products but I also really enjoy having some type of relaxing scent when I apply my cream… it’s more of a ritualistic thing for me.

Enter my new favorite day cream…

Antipodes Vanilla Pod Hydrating Day Cream

Yes, you read it correctly, VANILLA POD. When I first heard the name I wanted it (if you didn’t know already, I am a Vanilla addict) and then when I saw it contained Manuka Honey I was sold. Manuka Honey in a cream? without any stickiness? Brilliant.

I have been using this cream every single day and my skin is clearer, more hydrated and even glowing. I also sometimes add a little bit at nighttime if I feel I need added moisture after my oils. It sinks into the skin IMMEDIATELY. It almost gives a matte-look to the skin at first and then within a few minutes you’ll notice a glow to the cheeks. It wears beautifully underneath makeup. Also can I just say that the scent is perfection? If you are a vanilla fan you will love this, if you aren’t a vanilla fan I think you will still love this. It doesn’t have an overbearing vanilla scent. It has a subtle real vanilla scent with a hint of citrus to it. It’s divine to say the least.

Its plethora of other beauty benefits range from being an effective anti-wrinkle, healing and hydrating agent, to also showing antibacterial and astringent properties. Makeup Look: Dramatic Winged Eyeliner + Pretty Pink Lips!

Hi Loves!

I apologize for my absence lately. Sometimes you need to just “unplug” yourself and I felt like I needed a break from the internet and took some time for myself. I originally had posted a photo of me on instagram mentioning this look and said it would be up in a few days and I really apologize for the delay. Many of you were curious as to what I used to achieve such a dramatic eyeliner look and I think you will be surprised at how few products it took to achieve this glamorous look.

Makeup Look: Green & Gray Smokey Eyes and Light Pink Lips

I recently received some beautiful all-natural pressed eye shadows from Red Apple Lipstick that I have been absolutely loving. I paired together some green and gray tones to create this Smokey-eye look with a slight winged liner to add some more depth and drama. I paired the eyes with a light pink lip and coral cheeks. Keep reading to see which products I used and how to re-create this look :)

Makeup Look: Dark Red Lips and Lots of Lashes!

IMG_0202x

I recently did an entire green beauty look for Organic Beauty Talk and I wanted to also share it on my blog as I think it’s a perfect look to wear with Valentine’s Day approaching! The dark lip is perfect for a sexy night out.

For this look I wanted to do something dramatic and yet wearable for this winter season. I combined a purple silvery eye shadow with some dark browns to balance out the color, warm rosy cheeks with a subtle glow, and of course, dark lips to complete the look! I’m also wearing some new false lashes from EcoTools and am very excited that they have a non-toxic eyelash glue. Finally, I can wear false lashes again without having to compromise my health standards. Of course, the lashes are optional but I like them on special occasions to add a little more drama to the entire look.

5 Things I’m Loving… (#2)

IMG_0492

I’m back with my “5 Things I’m Loving” segment.  You can check out my first 5 Things I’m Loving post here if you missed it! This will now be a regular theme on my blog. Winter is here and with the weather being so much cooler I have many new products that I’ve integrated into my daily routine.

Evanhealy Whipped Shea Butter with Olive Leaf – This whipped butter has made me fall in love with oil-cleansing. I’ve always loved cleansing my face with oils but now that I have tried this whipped butter-like heaven I am a little obsessed. I use this three times a week and it keeps my skin hydrated, plump and clear of any blemishes. I am deeply in love with this product. Before I even ran out of my sample I purchased a full size and I can tell you right now before I get half-way through my full-size jar I will be repurchasing again. I will never go without this product, especially in the cooler months. Oh and the smell of this? Like a freshly baked (gluten free-for me) vanilla frosted cupcake! I couldn’t take it one day, so I actually tasted a bit of the cream on my tongue! It’s that pure. However, nowhere on Evan Healy’s site does this say that the whipped shea butter is  for “ingesting”…just saying!  I will have a full review of this product + more Evanhealy products (which my skin has been LOVING lately) very soon!

Konjac Sponge with French Pink ClayAfter using an oil-based cleanser to remove my makeup I  then use my new Konjac Sponge. This is such a wonderful product. I have both the pink and red  sponges and I think the pink is my favorite but I honestly love both. They exfoliate gently without ever irritating my incredibly sensitive skin and I can even use it to exfoliate my eye area which is so delicate and prone to eczema and dry patches in the winter. This has been the secret to keeping my skin clearer and assisting the  oils and moisturizers to apply and penetrate  so much better.

Miyu Beauty Hydrate Mi Tea – This is hands down my new favorite tea. I literally drink this every single day without fail. It’s absolutely delicious and sweet enough that I don’t find myself needing to add any honey. It contains Green Rooibos (contains nine types of flavonoids that aggressively fight free radicals so that complexions will look younger, longer), Goji Berries (naturally rich in vitamin C, necessary to promote collagen production to help keep skin smooth), Rose Petals (used in Traditional Chinese Medicine for centuries to improve circulation and soothe from within) and Snow Pear Essence and Candied Pearls for sweetness.

Lotus Wei Inner Peace Serum – This serum and every other  product from the “Inner Peace” Collection is helpful for high levels of stress, anxiety, nervousness, fear, lack of confidence and is helpful for experiencing deep peace, calm, confidence, comfort + contentment; strength + assuredness during times of high-stress. I love to use this oil-based serum on my hands and feet before bed every night. I also use this on my legs and I gently massage the oil into my calves, ankles, feet and hands. This is an incredibly relaxing routine that I look forward to doing every night. The calming and grounding scents of Lavender, Vetiver, Geranium and Allspice help to calm me and the lovely oils leave my skin feeling incredibly smooth.

Badger Balm Damascus Rose Face Oil - I am so, so happy with this face oil. I recently purchased it at my local Co-Op.  I was curious to try more from the Damascus Rose collection so I also picked up the Damascus Rose Beauty Balm which I will talk about soon (it’s wonderful!!) but the Rose Face Oil in particular has stood out to me the most. I recently battled some hormonal acne which left me with hyperpigmentation. This oil has helped to diminish redness after just days of use. I use this every night on my face and it’s enough moisture that I don’t need any added creams. It smells and feels beautiful, and it’s quickly becoming one of my new favorite oils of all-time.

*All of my reviews are based on my own personal experiences with the brand/products. I am never paid to give my honest opinions and will only review and recommend products and brands I love and use myself! All Photographs are (C) Britanie Faith unless stated otherwise.*

Brand Focus: Pollen & Wax

I was introduced to the brand, Pollen & Wax, “for the organic being”, from the lovely Megan from Seed to Serum. If you read her article you can feel her enthusiasm jump off the page for this relatively new line! That kind of love for a product always makes me really curious to see if I feel the same after I personally experience it for myself. I always have to give new products some  time to acclimate to my skin, because I have a very sensitive and reactive complexion. Well, I’m happy to report that Pollen & Wax is a brand that I will use and continue to recommend. What began as an Etsy shop in May of 2013 (which they still have) has grown to have their very own domain.  Take a look over at: POLLENandWAX.com

Bee, the owner and creator who hails from Seattle Washington has this to say:

“This company grew out of a dream to create holistic and  luxurious items that will love you back and protect your health (and the earth!). It is so inspiring to be a part of a community of mindfulness and conscientious action, and uplifting to realize that we can make a small difference in every corner of our lives. It is my wish that P&W products help you indulge in self-love and healing while supporting our fragile ecosystems and honoring our own bodies. In love and health” Bee

This line of organic beauty and wellness care is hand-crafted in small artisanal batches. The names of her products are so eclectic, you will have so much fun discovering what’s in each one.

I especially love the process that Bee has invented called, Typology. This will help you narrow down and craft a skincare routine for your individual needs. She based it on the energetics of the four seasons.
