Beauty Buzz | Osmia Organics Purely Simple Face Cream

Since switching over to completely natural and non-toxic makeup and skincare products I have had a hard time finding a really great face cream. I used to use Cetaphil to moisturize my face until I realized that it was chock full of nasty and harmful ingredients. I have normal to dry skin but in the colder months my skin switches over to more dry and I struggle with itching and dryness, especially after showering.

I was so happy to try this purely simple face cream from Osmia Organics as it is no secret how much of a fan I am of Sarah Villafranco, owner and creator of Osmia Organics and her impeccable products. I swear by Sarah’s products and I use her active gel nutrient serum, rose clay facial soap, body oil and honey-myrrh lip repair daily and nightly and cannot be without them, and now I cannot be without this face cream!

What It Is: This cream, designed for reactive skin, contains simple, pure, plant-sourced ingredients and tiny amounts of the most precious essential oils, to give moisture with very low potential for irritation or adverse reaction. Rice protein helps support the skin’s collagen structure, and aloe juice soothes irritation. This cream has a fairly low percentage of oil-based ingredients, which is why I recommend Purely Simple Face Cream for perioral dermatitis; (use sparingly over areas of dermatitis).

For: Sensitive, reactive, and normal skin.

How To Use: Apply to clean skin 1-2 times daily.

Ingredients: aloe barbadensis leaf juice*, prunus amygdalus (sweet almond) oil*, prunus armeniaca (apricot kernel) oil*, radish root/arundinaria gigantea ferment filtrate, glyceryl stearate, cetearyl glucoside, cetearyl alcohol, vegetable glycerin*, hydrolyzed rice protein, simmondsia chinensis (jojoba) oil*, ricinus communis (castor) oil*, GMO-free vitamin E oil, proprietary blend of essential oils*

Price & Where To Buy: You can buy this face cream here for $60.00

My Thoughts: This is my absolute favorite face cream I have used in a very long time. I only need a pump of this to cover my entire face. It melts into my skin like butter and lasts all day and night. Although I don’t wear much foundation I find that for me personally it wears very well underneath makeup. When you first apply this cream it feels a little thick and you can see a white residue but once you massage it into your skin it completely absorbs and leaves absolutely no residue left over and does not feel even slightly heavy on the skin at all. Although this face cream was designed for very sensitive skin, it works with absolutely all skin types. It has enough oil-based ingredients to help dry skin but it also has a perfect balance of oil and aloe that it would be great for oily skin as well! I am so happy to add this to my skin regime and this will absolutely be a staple of mine for the winter months!

  1. Hey there! another great review. Are you sponsored by Osmia? I notice you mention them on your site alot! Their products look really great but are a bit pricey! What product would you recommend for someone to try out their brand? thanks!

    1. Hey! Thanks for your comment. I am not sponsored by Osmia Organics, I am just a huge fan of theirs. I honestly recommend them to everyone. I have never had huge issues with my skin but what little irritating things I struggled with I can honestly say that Osmia cleared up for me. I swear by Sarah’s products, that is why I mention Osmia so much on my site!! I am not paid to ever mention any brands or products!! I will only ever recommend things that I use and love myself!!

I understand the price issue and although it may seem pricey for a face cream to be $60, I can honestly say that it is worth it. Not only because the product is unbeatable but because a little bit goes a long way with this face cream and with all of Osmia’s products (that I have tried so far). To me it’s an investment that is worth it and that your skin will thank you for!

If I were to recommend only two products of theirs to check out first I would have to say the Purely Simple Face Cream and the Honey-Myrrh Lip Repair! after that I would have to say the Serums and soaps… but honestly I love everything! I could go on and on!

Let me know if you do try anything and what you think!!!

      xx

  2. This moisturiser sounds so good 🙂 I actually love everything creamy. Does this smell like lavender or unscented? (The packaging pictures lavender).

Another brand that I recommend when you have reactive and highly sensitive skin is Pai Skincare, the brand is specially made for sensitive skin but can be used on all skin types. I have tried their facial cleanser and it comes in a very creamy texture and removes all of my make up (no need to double cleanse).

Great brand spotlight! Osmia sounds like such a fantastic brand I will surely check it out.

    1. Hey!! It has a bit of an herbal scent to it but nothing overpowering at all! I think it’s really a fresh scent! Very comforting. All of the packaging has lavender on it but it doesn’t smell like lavender! Speaking of lavender, they sell lavender soap!!!

I have been meaning to check out Pai Skincare!! Thank you for the reminder! I am looking for a very gentle facial cleanser so I will look into theirs! Thank you!

Let me know if you do try out anything from Osmia, I think you will enjoy their products… I really love everything of theirs!!

      1. The Picture is not lavender, but lupine. Many people are confused. They have a lot of lupines all around in Colorado, that is why they use this flower on packaging.

  3. Hi!

    Thanks for the review!

I found out about Osmia through your website, and it is now on my to-try list! ( especially the Honey Myrrh Lip repair and body oils )

I am now trying out some samples of face oils….my favorite one so far is RMS beauty oil….i might get the full size of that for winter (I prefer oils to creams generally…)

    1. Hi Clara!

I love to hear that someone heard about Osmia through my site!!!! It makes me happy because I love their products so very much!! The honey-myrrh lip repair is to die for! also the body oils are amazing. When you try anything out from them please let me know your thoughts!! I suggest trying out their facial soap bars too!

I have RMS beauty on my to try list! I especially want to try their living luminizer and cream eyeshadows! I as well like face oils but for winter months I find that it’s not enough to stop the itching and dryness that I tend to get on my face after showering! In summer months I find that often serums are enough moisture for me and just a few dabs of argan oil. I sometimes like to apply a tiny bit of argan oil on my cheeks at night after using this face cream if I feel I need EXTRA moisture!!

  4. I heard about Osmia and May Lindstrom skin care on your blog. They both sound wonderful, and I want to try them. If I had to choose one, which would you recommend? I have dry, mature skin. Thanks!
