Raw Elements Eco Formula SPF30+ Lotion and Eco Stick SPF30+ Sunscreens Review

The weather is getting warmer here in Massachusetts and that means the sun is shining and it is time to add extra sun protection!

I will only use the purest of natural sunscreens as most mainstream sunscreens can contain ingredients that can actually CAUSE (NOT PROTECT) you from skin cancer! There are many debates about this but I suggest you do your own research and make your own conclusions. I personally have done a lot of reading on the subject and feel much more comfortable using sunscreens that contain natural ingredients rather than using a product that is supposed to help prevent against cancer and yet contains ingredients that can lead to cancer. It’s a catch-22!

I have tried a handful of natural and organic sunscreens and many I like and the rest are either too thick, leave a white cast or cause me to break out. When I came across the company Raw Elements and saw they ranked one of the top safest sunscreens on the EWG database with a score of 1! I knew that I had to try their formulations.

My Thoughts: I love both of these sunscreens but I use them for different areas. The Eco Formula Lotion is my favorite for applying on my body because it’s thick but sinks in to the skin wonderfully. I do find it can be a tad too thick for my face, especially if I am wearing makeup but if I do wear it on my face I just use a very light amount. The Eco Stick is wonderful for travel, touch-ups and is so easy to apply. I especially love to use the Eco Stick on my neck and decollete. Overall I am very satisfied and impressed with these sunscreens but will definitely be reaching for the Eco-Stick the most as I find it so convenient to carry with me in my purse for touch ups and I love how it blends into my skin so quickly without leaving over any residue! I also love how incredibly clean these sunscreens are!

You can purchase the Eco Broad Spectrum SPF30+ Lotion for $18.99 and the Eco Stick SPF30+ for $15.99 on the Raw Elements website.

Have you ever tried Raw Elements? What are your favorite sunscreens?

Britanie

  1. Great post! I recently been telling my friends and family to use a natural sunscreen and this looks like a great one. I have been using badger and really happy with it, sometimes it can be a little thick or stay on white. But I’m ok with that. I also just made my own sunscreen this year and will be trying that out!

  2. I’ve never tried this brand but after your review I might have to! Sadly it is not available in my city. 😦 I really like Aubrey Naturals, though. They use both Zinc and Titanium oxide as a barrier and the rest of the ingredients are natural with most of them being organic. I also like the tropical scent. It smells amazing!

  3. The ingredients… awesome! I also believe that natural sunscreen is safetier for my skin, a couple of years ago I’ve searched the ingredients of chemical products and after the research I’ve done, Ive became to the conclusion that there are ingredients causes wrinkles and more damage for the cells… I don’t understand why they’re using these ingredients!

  4. I haven’t heard of this brand before, sounds wonderful. I love my badger SPF stick so this sounds very good, will see if I can get it in uk xx

  5. How timely! A few weeks ago I picked up both of these at Whole Foods and have been totally in love with them! I started using the lotion for my body and as my daily facial moisturizer, and like you said the stick is great for touch ups. Did you know they just came out with a tinted Eco Stick? I just ordered one of those to use as a spot concealer.

  6. Hi Britanie, can I just ask if using Raw Elements’ sunscreen broke you out? I have read several reviews that say it’s not really suitable for oily, acne-prone skin, and I intend to only use the Lotion for my body as I am using the Josh Rosebrook Nutrient Day Cream (untinted) for my face, which works wonderfully. Would you say that the Lotion leaves a very strong white cast (since it has such a high concentration of zinc oxide…)

Also, just one more question, since it is water-resistant, do you find it hard to wash off at the end of the day? Thank you so much!
