What is there to say about the Rahua Voluminous Shampoo that is negative? the answer is: NOTHING! But, oh what to say about the Rahua Voluminous Shampoo that is positive? Simply put… EVERYTHING!
In the past I was never too picky about the shampoo I chose. I based my decision on the aroma, the price and the of course, the marketing! But then I had my “moment of enlightenment” a few years ago where I switched over to natural and non-toxic products. Seems ridiculous to me now, but it finally occurred to me that things I put ON and IN my body could have a positive or negative effect on my health! Since making the switch to shampoos that are not only sulfate-free but also gluten-free, I have become somewhat of a hair care aficionado. I’ve tried many natural shampoos that have left my hair feeling dry, limp or even oily. All things undesirable! Usually there is something I like about each one, but not the “whole package” as they say. I’m usually left feeling like I need more of the promises fulfilled.
My hair is usually on the normal to dry side but in the hot months it can get a bit oily. Especially when I go a few days without washing, which I try to do because it’s so much healthier for the scalp and hair to have our own natural oils help to lubricate the hair shafts. Healthy hair equals a very happy me!
I find that the Rahua Voluminious Shampoo is the absolute best for keeping my hair looking healthy, thick, shiny, soft and clean! I can go at least three days without washing (if not longer!!) when I use this magical product. It’s the best. It gives a light lather and really does regenerate my scalp and hair follicles as promised! This fortifying rich liquid, is delicately fragrant with the scents of Lemongrass, Lavender, and Eucalyptus which are all aromatherapy enhancers as well as are star ingredients for healthy hair. It’s also safe for color treated hair. and it is Gluten Free!
I have very long hair which makes it extremely easy to be tangled and unmanageable. Especially if I go a few days without shampooing and use dry shampoo (my favorites are the LuLu Organics and my DIY Dry Shampoo) in between washes.)
The Rahua Voluminous is the absolute best shampoo that I have tried and is most definitely my all time favorite.
Many thanks to Katie from The Green Product Junkie for recommending it to me! Incidentally if you ever have the chance to meet my dear friend, and have seen her gorgeous locks, you too would ask her “secret”. Her hair is just amazing.
I also have to give honorable mention to the Rahua Voluminous Conditioner as well because it is also absolutely wonderful. I use it on the bottom three inches of my hair and it leaves the ends feeling so incredibly soft. I sometimes use this conditioner as an all-over hair mask. I apply it from the roots to the ends of my hair and leave on for 15-20 minutes and then rinse well with cool water. Your hair will feel so soft and shiny after doing this!

I’m so excited to introduce you to two very inspirational sisters, Jill and Carly the founders of Botanical Me. Botanical Me is a collection of vibrant aromatherapy products inspired by the unique healing plants of Africa. This brand was born in 2012 out of an ephiphany from a conversation between Jill and her husband (a native of Nigeria and a Malaria survivor). That light bulb moment sparked her to team up with her sister, Carly.
They used their nine years of aromatherapy business experience to source, design and formulate the Botanical Me collection. The “botanical sisters” intention was to create a natural body care and aromatherapy company that would contribute part of their proceeds to support malaria prevention and treatment in Africa. They partnered with, Malaria No More. This organization supports prevention programs and treatments in communities. Jill and Carly want their donations to potentially save thousands of children’s lives and help with the education and ultimately the eradication of this devastating disease. The “Me” to the Botanical-me is short for Malaria Eradication!
Their motto is, “Natural body care that inspires, heals and gives back!”. I think this is some pretty admirable stuff! It is so incredible to me when a company can use their combined ingenuity to create a brand that not only give us clean and green beautiful beauty products, but that can turn their passion for helping into reality! Win and win, again!
This multi-use elegant blend of rare oils is so versatile! I use it for my hair, skin care and even my nails. I love the vibrant uplifting scent. This oil is so light and smoothing. I use it on my wet hair after a shower. Just put a few drops of this delight on my hands and rub into my hair. It’s such a great treatment full of antioxidants, vitamins, polyphenols and omega fatty acids. I also use it on my face after I cleanse, tone, and then I press a few drops into my face for supreme moisture.
Another winner top selling product and favorite. This is the best aroma ever in a body butter! It’s “rich buttery sunshine in a jar”. The mango and shea butters are blended perfectly with uplifting citrus essential oils lemon and bergamot fruit. This is formulation blends into your skin very quickly with no greasy residue. It’s just perfect. If you want a quick pick-me-up, do what I do…reapply all throughout the day. (Inhale deeply first!). I use it all over. A little goes a long way, this is really rich.
This travel sized mist stays in my purse at all times. I spray it all throughout the day on my clothes, hair and directly in front of my face to breathe in the luscious and really fresh aroma. It naturallyneliminates airborne germs. It’s so relaxing with the South African grown Cape Lavender essential oil. Don’t worry about staining because it has a non-staining water base. At night I spray it on my bed pillows for a restful sleep and it’s added theraputic benefit of calming my nerves. It also contains green basil and citrus essential oils which balance mood and fight jet-lag as well as fatigue.
If you follow my blog you are well aware of my love for all things aromatherapy! I love the complex scents and therapeutic benefits of essential oils. I can’t get enough of them. Botanical me has come up with an invigorating aromatherapy blend to roll on your neck, shoulders and pulse points. (Take a look on the site for demonstrations on how to use).
I love this multi-purpose aromatherapy spray for my yoga practice so much. We all know how sweaty the mat can get after a session. I spray about eight pumps of Namaste on mine to clean it and keep it bacteria free after each use. Don’t forget to wipe it off with a clean towel. Jill and Carly designed this to be used also as an air freshener and a fabric spray, too.
I really LOVE this company. Jill and Carly are two really incredible giving women that realized that each one of us really can personally make a difference in our world. I encourage you to go to their site, botanicalme.com and take a look. I feel so good when I know that I can make a purchase for beautiful green beauty products (they also sell organic chocolate, honey and tea!) and at the same time help a cause that is just so important to children that need our help. Never forget the power each one of us has to make a big difference collectively in the world!

I’m back with my 6th wishlist! (Feel free to look back on my older wishlists! 1, 2, 3, 4, 5.) This month’s wishlist has been inspired by many fellow bloggers. I haven’t done one in awhile because I like to really save the products that I truly am LUSTING over, not just wanting, because if I did it any other way it would be mile long! Most of these products have been on my radar for awhile now while a few others are new discoveries. Either way, I am coveting all of these. Why is it so exciting to discover new products? I love when I place an order and then my anticipation goes sky high waiting for the order to arrive…then unwrapping and opening the beautiful package. Best of all, trying out the new special creations! Who else is with me on this? How blessed are we to have all these choices?
RMS Beauty Sublime Lip Shine is my new favorite lip color for Summer! When I first spotted the fuchsia, hot pink color in the pot, my first thought was “there is no way I can pull off that strong color!”. It seemed so bold. Boy was I wrong! It is incredibly flattering on all skin tones and it instantly brightens the complexion. If you are scared of it being too pink, don’t be! It’s very buildable. You can wear it sheer to create a slight baby pink color or add more layers to make it more pigmented. It never looks like too much product is on my lips no matter how many layers of this I apply and the best part is that IT IS SO MOISTURIZING. It feels like a lip balm + lip tint all in one. It also lasts throughout the entire day on me and I find that by the end of the day while some of the pigment may have lessened, the pink color still lasts and looks natural and beautiful on my lips. You could also wear this on your cheeks as well!

To say that I am a lover of facial oils would be a drastic understatement. I truly adore my oils and although I have quite the collection, I still am always lusting after more. There is no such thing as too many oils! With that said, I have a large collection of oils that are more on the expensive side and I know that it’s not realistic for everyone to spend $50-$100 on a small bottle of oil every few months. I do think some oils are worth the extra money and if you are interested in knowing what my favorite less-affordable but brilliantly amazing facial oils are then I will definitely make a post on those!
I get asked a lot which oils are great for the face but will not cost an arm and a leg. I have compiled a list of these top four oils which are all easily available, affordable and incredibly effective. I also chose all of these oils because in my opinion they are the best for all skin types. This list is in no particular order of favorites!!
I apologize for the lack of updates on my blog lately. I have been working really hard at moving my blog over to a self-hosted site which is a lot more work than I had anticipated. I want to have more freedom with my blog which is what inspired me to do this move but I didn’t realize it would take me so long to get everything up and ready.
I am also working on setting up a space for recording YouTube videos on a regular basis. Between the blog changes and working on new things, I have also been struggling with my health more so than usual lately. I’ve been having a very difficult time and it has made everything that much harder for me to get finished! I am still motivated as ever though, to keep things growing and to keep progressing no matter what the situation. I am extremely resilient and thankful for that.
While I am working on blog changes, I would love to know what you would all like to see me post more about. Are you more interested in reviews, makeup looks, health-related posts, fashion, recipes, diy’s, etc? Please feel free to leave your feedback in the comments and let me know what you are the most interested in reading on my blog. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated as I want to produce more content that YOU want to see.
I promise regular blog updates will resume soon but in the mean time I am very active over on my instagram account: @beautybybritanie and update there almost every day. Please follow me there if you want to keep up with me and bare with me while I work on making my blog even better. I am not tech savvy and it’s not easy for me but I will get there!!
Thanks for your love, patience and support everyone. xoxo
I was graciously sent the Venus Snap with Embrace Razor for my review, opinion and recommendation about this new product. As you know I only endorse products that I like, use and would repurchase myself.
I created Beautybybritanie to be able to share my beauty routines as well as the products that I love, use and enjoy. I personally find it so helpful to read about innovative beauty tools that really work and make our “daily grooming and maintenance” routines a little easier and more enjoyable.
This small personal razor comes with a compact portable case and not only performs perfectly, but I love that I can easily travel with it! I’m always traveling back and forth between Massachusetts and Long Island, so because of the size and portability of this razor I never forget to pack it. It even fits in my purse.
What I love about this razor is that it has a mini handle so it’s very easy to hold. Plain water activates the built in moisture ribbon so I don’t use shaving cream with this. The Embrace has five blades with a pivoting head which makes it great for maneuvering around all the “delicate places”. It has refillable cartridges that can also fit in your other Gillette Venus razors. I used to use disposable razors, but not anymore. Any small thing I can do to help the environment by not adding to the landfills is an improvement to me!
I love products that make sense and this one does. The Venus Snap with Embrace Razor is now part of my essential beauty travel kit!

I recently came across this beautiful hair piece from asos that I had lost amongst my many hair accessories for quite some time. When I found it I felt really inspired to do a dramatic gypsy goddess look. Although it’s Spring here and bright lip colors are what’s “in”, I still like to rock a good dark lip every now and then!
Prep + Prime: Start by moisturizing the skin with a light but hydrating oil. I used Sibu Beauty SeabuckthornSeed Oil and added a light layer of Antipodes Vanilla Pod Hydrating Cream (review here) on top.
Correct + Conceal: To combat my stubborn dark circles I applied Kjaer Weis Cream Foundation in “Like Porcelain” (review here) to the under eyes and on the eyelids to act as an eyeshadow primer. I also used the Kjaer Weis foundation as a concealer around any other areas that needed covering (ie: nose, chin). I blended everything out with a beauty blender.
Bronze + Illuminate: Who doesn’t want dewy skin? For an extra “glowy” look I dabbed RMS Beauty Living Luminizer (for those sensitive to coconut oil – I also use and love Ilia Beauty’s Polkadots & Moonbeams Illuminator) to the highest part of my cheekbones, down the bridge of my nose and on my cupid’s bow. To add some color to my cheeks I blended RMS Beauty Buruti Bronzer (again if sensitive to coconut oil, try Ilia’s Sway Bronzer) and Lip2Cheek in “Smile” to the apples of my cheeks.
Eyes: I started off by applying a light layer of Red Apple Lipstick Eyeshadow in “Porcelain” all over my lid and brow-bone. I then applied Alima Pure Eyeshadow in “Orchid” all over the lid, making sure not to go into the crease. For my crease color I used Red Apple Lipstick’s Pressed Eyeshadow in the color “Vamp”. I blended all three colors together and lined just the outer part of my eye with the Zuzu Luxe Liquid Eyeliner. To bring out the purple from the Alima Pure eyeshadow I applied two coats of Dr. Hauschka Volume Mascara in “Aubergine” and added false lashes using EcoTools non-toxic glue.
Lips: I prepped my lips with Dr. Bronner’s Organic Lipbalm and added two layers of Ilia Beauty “Ink Pot” Lipstick. I used the actual lipstick to line my lips before coloring in.
Bare-Faced & Freckled (besides the lips & eyelashes, of course). I have started to really embrace not wearing any face makeup lately. I love makeup and I love colors but sometimes I think we all get too caught up in trying to “cover” so much of ourselves instead of focusing on enhancing and embracing. I used to wear full coverage foundation to cover my freckles because I hated them and now I honestly love them. They make me -me-. I am more focused on colors and things that bring light to my face, not cover it up. Of course I will still use foundation and concealer because lets face it, there’s almost always a time for it, but for the most part I am trying to let my skin be free of coverage.
