“This all-natural yet powerful deodorant cream utilizes superfine vegetable powders, clays, and lavender, peppermint and tea tree essential oils to absorb moisture, inhibit bacteria, and ensure a long-lasting and highly effective experience. The frosting-like consistency ensures effortless manual application and quick absorption.”
Soapwalla’s Deodorant Cream is free from harmful chemicals, petroleum, or aluminum compounds found in commercial antiperspirants (linked to alzheimer’s and breast cancer), is vegan, and is never ever tested on animals.
For: Ideal for all skin types.
How To Use: ensure deodorant is mixed completely (some separation is normal), scoop a little with your finger and gently apply to the entire armpit (don’t push hard, it’s sensitive skin). Make sure it’s absorbed completely (absorbs quickly), then go about your day stink-free!
Ingredients: Organic jojoba, sunflower, and rosehip seed oils; shea butter; a combination of all-natural and gluten-free vegetable clays and powders; aluminum-free sodium bicarbonate; organic vegan kosher glycerin; a combination of organic lavender, peppermint, sweet orange, bergamot and tea tree essential oils.
My Thoughts: This is the first deodorant cream I have ever tried. I was a bit hesitant as I have tried so many natural deodorants over the past year that have excited me for the first few hours and then always end up disappointing me by the end of the day by not holding up at all. This deodorant cream smells delicious (fresh lavender!) and is really easy to apply. I apply this after my showers at night and find that I do not need to apply more until the next night! That is a huge deal for me when it comes to natural deodorants as most that I have tried never last me an entire day without having to reapply more! Another thing I really like about this cream is that it absorbs quickly and works fast! I think it is safe to say that my hunt for a good natural deodorant is finally over. This stuff really does work!
*UPDATE* — unfortunately after posting this rave review I started noticing some irritation under my arms which turned into two huge rashes that almost look like bruises. I did some research and have read many reviews where people said that they had the same reaction and it seems that it could be from the baking soda that is in this deodorant. I will unfortunately have to stop using this and I am very devastated as it is literally the only natural deodorant that has ever worked for me but I can’t go around having rashes underneath my arms!! I still recommend this to everyone as it does work really well and for some reason took at least a week for me to break out into an irritation. Unfortunately I think it is a trial and error situation and I am one of the unlucky ones! I guess I spoke too soon and my hunt for natural deodorants is not yet over!
Soapwalla owner, Rachel Winard creates all of her organic products in her Brooklyn apartment kitchen using only the highest quality products available and never uses ingredients tested on animals. She created the line to alleviate her painful sensitive skin rashes caused by lupus, a chronic, inflammatory autoimmune illness. I really admire and can relate to Rachel as I as well suffer from chronic health issues and it is what has led me onto the path that I am on now to ingest and apply as little chemicals as possible and to share my experiences along the way. Rachel said this on her website and I could not agree with her more … “If I refuse to put something in my body, I shouldn’t be putting it on my body, either.” – amen to that! I am looking forward to trying out more products from Soapwalla in the future!
