My Top Four: Favorite Affordable Facial Oils

fav

To say that I am a lover of facial oils would be a drastic understatement. I truly adore my oils and although I have quite the collection, I still am always lusting after more. There is no such thing as too many oils! With that said, I have a large collection of oils that are more on the expensive side and I know that it’s not realistic for everyone to spend $50-$100 on a small bottle of oil every few months. I do think some oils are worth the extra money and if you are interested in knowing what my favorite less-affordable but brilliantly amazing facial oils are then I will definitely make a post on those!

I get asked a lot which oils are great for the face but will not cost an arm and a leg. I have compiled a list of these top four oils which are all easily available, affordable and incredibly effective. I also chose all of these oils because in my opinion they are the best for all skin types. This list is in no particular order of favorites!!

  1. Badger Damascus Rose Antioxidant Face Oil ($15.27) – This is the most expensive oil of the bunch (still affordable!) and most definitely the most delicious smelling and decadent as well. It smells like a flower garden and is incredibly relaxing. It always gives my skin a beautiful glow and is very moisturizing. It is highly absorbent, antioxidant-rich and contains healing oils like Jojoba, Baobab, Pomegranate and more! This face oil is ideal for dry, mature or combination skin, but can be used on all skin types.
  2. Acure Organics Argan Oil ($13.49) – Coined as “liquid gold”, this is by far the most effective and affordable Argan Oil out there. It is 100% organic, rich in Vitamin E, Essential Fatty Acids and is lightweight and easily absorbed! This oil is not only great for the face, but I also love to use it on my cuticles, hands, and hair!
  3. Sibu Beauty Seabuckthorn Oil ($9.98) – I don’t usually like to choose favorites but I have to say that this is definitely my favorite out of the bunch. In-fact, Seabuckthorn Oil (berry & seed) is now my every day staple. It keeps eczema at bay and reduces redness. Seabuckthorn Seed Oil has been long used as a topical treatment to aid relief of skin conditions like eczema, acne, rosacea, dermaitits, age spots, you name it! It is truly an incredibly healing oil that I can never be without. I have literally gone through five bottles of this oil because I use it day and night!
  4. Aura Cacia Jojoba Oil ($12.12) – Jojoba Oil is the first oil I recommend to anyone who is starting out in the world of facial oils. Why? because it is it is nearly identical in chemical structure to the natural oils in skin and hair, and therefor is easily absorbed without leaving a greasy residue. Here’s another interesting fact: Jojoba Oil is not actually an oil, but a wax 🙂 It also seems to be the the oil that responds best with all skin types from dry to sensitive to oily or acne-prone. It’s a staple-oil that I think everyone should have in their home!

Have you tried any of these Facial Oils? What are YOUR favorite affordable oils?

xoxo,

Britanie

  1. Great post! Seabuckthorn oil is definitely on my “to try” list. Currently, I’m in love with tamanu oil. It’s been great for the dry patches in on my face.

  2. Thanks! I tried out an organic face oil that refused to absorb into my skin, which was a bummer. I’m trying to decide between the Sibu Oil and the Damascus Rose. I’m leaning toward the Rose one, as it sounds like it smells divine, and you said it absorbs well. Although the Sibu oil is your favorite… Thanks so much! I feel like this narrows down things a bunch for me!

  3. Hi,
I have the sibu one and love it 🙂 I was wondering if you put the oil under your eyes or should you not put it near the eyes ? I don’t know if I should put it around the eyes or if it is bad

    1. If you apply oil on your under eyes before your concealer then it will hydrate it, a lot of people make the mistake of mixing it with the concealer but unfortunately, that takes away the coverage.

  4. I love Avocado oil for my face, its rich and velvety texture makes it fantastic to use a night time moisturizer. I love Coconut oil as an all rounder – for the body, hair and internally.x

  5. Love this post! My favourite oil is Rosehip oil but now I definitely want to try seabuckthorn oil ! Oils just feel so good on the skin and make me feel like I’m “feeding” my skin or something haha

  6. I for one would love to find out what oils you like in the higher price range. Single oils are great, but a good blend always feels more indulgent xx

  7. I’m a huge fan of facial oils as well but hadn’t heard of these so thanks for sharing! I would definitely be interested in reading what your top picks for less affordable would be (my bank account is giving me a death stare but let’s just ignore that shall we) so I would love for you to do a post on that! I’m currently using Balance Me’s Rose Otto Face Oil which is really lovely and have just purchased Indie Lee’s Squalene Facial Oil as I’m just about to run out of an oil *cannot be without an oil!* I’ve also been using Bodhi & Birch’s Desert Rose Oil at night which is divine, leaves skin silky smooth and calm which is much appreciated by my sensitive skin!

  8. Mmmmh I LOVE this article! I will be coming back to it when I need more argan oil; and the damascus rose?! Sounds dreamy! I love the scent and effects of that particular rose. It’s like heaven.
I’ve played around with oils as well. It’s taken some time for my skin to get to where it’s at – more balanced and healthy than ever (so grateful!). I found out the hard way that coconut oil, though it works beautifully on my body, did not agree with my face. Lately I’ve been using “The Glow” by Jeffrey James Botanicals, which contains jojoba oil, hemp oil, olive oil, sea buckthorn, and some flower essential oils, and it’s pretty fantastic. I was lucky enough to find this gem at TJMaxx for $12, and recently discovered it sells for about $50 everywhere else.
Thank you for these wonderful discoveries! Oils are so magical 🙂

  9. You caught my attention when you said that the Seabuckthorn oil kept your eczema at bay! I struggle with dyshidrotic eczema on one of my hands, and I’m always looking for something to help. I might have to give it a try!

  11. I have a question. I’m 46 years old, have celiac and have had cancer twice. I have some age spots and breakout in pimples occasionally and my t area tends to run oily. What oil can I use safely? My skin is also sensitive.

    1. Hi Margaret, I would recommend trying Seabuckthorn Oil or Jojoba Oil. they are both great or sensitive skin. I would start with Jojoba Oil. It’s the most tolerated oil out there since it is so close to our own natural oils. xoxoxo

  15. My two favorites are Truth In Skincare and Vinters Daughter. I have both but probably won’t purchase the Vinters Daughter again since it’s so expensive and I actually like the Truth In Skincare a bit better and it’s not so expensive. Love your posts.
