I get really, really excited when I can bring you a company that has great products (that work), for a very reasonable price point. This is how I feel about the Nubian Heritage Fragrance-Free & Sensitive Skin Shea Butter & Aloe line.

Do you have sensitive skin or want a break from scented products? If so you will LOVE these products. After blogging for over five years now and being lucky enough to try out some of the world’s highest-end luxury products and most delicious scents ever created, it’s really nice for me to occasionally have a little break from ANY added scent, (no matter how organic the essential oils are.) My nose gets tired. Really! There is a term coined for this condition and it’s called nosebleed.

That’s really how I feel sometimes! There are moments when I can’t smell anything because of the overload of fragrances. When that happens I stop all perfume, body wash, body lotion,  and go fragrance-free. It’s almost like when I take a “media break”….we all need those, too! Our bodies need to get back to basics and quiet our senses. A designated time-out.

About the Brand:

Co-founders Richelieu Dennis, Nyema Tubman, and Mary Dennis created a brand that had very “humble beginnings” as they like to say. Right out of college and being jobless, the childhood friends partnered with Richelieu’s mother, Mary, to bring some of the age-old healing traditions of African Black Soap and Shea Butter to the Harlem, New York community they so loved. That was over 20 years ago and they are doing such noteworthy things like paying ethical wages to the seven women’s co-ops in Northern Ghana when they work with over 700 women sourcing Shea Butter.

Shea Butter & Aloe Body Wash

Fragrance-free body conditioning cleanser with Organic Shea Butter with Cocoa Butter and Vitamin E. I put a small amount on my washcloth to cleanse my entire body with this formula. *Always avoid contact with your eyes. The body wash is very mild yet totally effective and leaves my skin feeling cleansed but not stripped of the natural oils. Very good for delicate, sensitive skin and protective of signs of aging. Again, no fragrance…..absolutely none that I can detect! When I get out of the shower and my skin is still moist from the water and steam, I gently pat off some of the water and apply the Shea Butter & Aloe Body Lotion.

This is a gentle and very moisturizing lotion that immediately sinks into the skin. Not at all greasy. As a matter of fact, I generously applied this lotion before I started typing and there is no residue on my keyboard…a very good thing! Organic Fair Trade Shea and Cocoa Butters with Vitamin E that nourishes sensitive delicate skin. Aloe Vera is naturally hydrating and the Shea and Cocoa butter soften and condition the skin. Vitamin E is high in antioxidants and can help protect your skin from the signs of early aging. And bonus for those of us trying to avoid scents to give our noses a break: Literally zero fragrance that I can detect. Nada…..How do they do it? No clue, but they did. I use this all the time, right after my shower and throughout the day when my hands feel dry.
