diy

We all know how much I love to make DIY tutorials! I am especially excited to bring you this super easy, affordable and EFFECTIVE facial treatment that uses only TWO INGREDIENTS. I love to use this homemade scrub once a week. It helps keep my skin glowing and clear of blemishes! Keep reading below for more photos and instructions and you can watch a quick video I made using this mask here:

Benefits of this Facial Treatment:

  • Lemons are high in vitamin C and antioxidants. It’s natural acid and sugars are wonderful for acting as an exfoliant, blackhead remover, blemish fighting, skin brightener and treatment for sunburn. It also leaves your face GLOWING!
  • Lemon juice is rich in alpha hydroxy acids that help exfoliate the skin and get rid of dead skin cells.
  • Honey is extremely high in anti-bacterial properties and can help fight and prevent acne and skin disorders like eczema.
  • Honey is moisturizing and will leave your skin feeling soft and supple.

What To Do:

  1. Cut Lemon in half, pick out any seeds
  2. Add 1 teaspoon Honey to the Lemon
  3. Gently exfoliate your face with the Lemon and Honey
  4. Leave mixture on for five minutes and then rinse with warm water

Notes:

  • Be careful to not get Lemon in your eyes, it will sting!
  • If you feel a stinging sensation on your face, that is normal! it is the acids doing it’s job of deeply exfoliating your skin.

  1. I love lemon and honey on my skin, too! I’m prone to dullness (curse of those with neutral skin tone?) so I need lots of brightening products and DIY beauty masks!

  2. I’ve done this with pineapple & oranges before too. Works really well. I will now have to try throwing my manuka honey into the mix. Thanks!

  5. How clever! I have been looking for home remedies for my face since my skin is sensitive to most of the creams out there. I have both of these ingredients at home, and will try this out tonight. Excellent post!

  6. Only 2 ingredients, I love it. I will be trying this out tonight. We actually have a lemon tree and I run out of ideas for all those lemons. Thank you.

  7. Same! Never used an actual lemon before just lemon juice! There are so many different home remedies out there, whereas keeping to one by doing trial and error is a big risk!

  8. Yes! Honey has natural antibiotic properties, and as long as you have no allergy or sensitivity to either item, it can help brighten and clarify your face. Would it help clear up my face from acne scars?

    1. For getting rid of acne scars which I also have, I used a face mask a few days ago that fade scars and it worked pretty well. You will need 4tbsp honey, 4tsp lemon juice, 3tsp yogurt, and 1 egg white. Leave it on for 15 minutes and rinse. I hope this helped!! 😄😄

  9. This is an awesome beauty tips that I will try definitely, thank you for sharing this and I also add this to my beauty routine alongside my supplement rich in squalene that repair and regenerate damage skin cells.
