Face Of The Day | Bronzed Bohemian-Inspired Look

brittt

I did my weekly coconut oil hair treatment the night before these photographs were taken (hence the oil in my hair) but call me crazy – I actually kind of like the somewhat messy and shiny (okay, oily) hair for this bohemian-inspired makeup look. I really have been obsessed with bronze makeup lately. I love the dimension it adds to my eyes and I really love how adding bronze to my face brings out my freckles and makes me look extra sun-kissed!

This makeup look was extremely easy to achieve. Recently Rose-Marie Swift, the creator and makeup artist behind RMS Beauty gave me a tip that I have been using a lot lately. She told me to take the eye shadow farther up the lid .. over the brow bone” which will make the eyes look more contoured and beautiful when the light hits it, especially with all the different colors in the cream shadows. I was a little worried about doing this, especially with a darker bronze color but honestly, I LOVE the effect this gives. I especially enjoy doing this with the shade “Seduce”. I also opted to not use regular pencil or liquid eyeliner and to instead use a cream shadow to add depth to my upper and lower lashline which appears much more natural. This is great for those with smaller eyes.

How to get this look & Products Used:

Apply with fingers under eyes, around nose and any other areas that need coverage.

Apply a dab of this beautiful and universally flattering shade to the cheeks (and lips if desired!)

Apply “Seduce” all over the lid, over the browbone and blend blend blend. Line upper and lower lashine with “Karma” to add depth to the lashline.

Apply to inner corner of eyes and browbone for a natural and luminious highlight.

Apply this incredibly pigmented bronze shadow over “Seduce” (no higher than the lid)

Apply two coats of this mascara which smells like a field of lavenders!

Apply this beautifully moisturizing sheer rich red to the lips to make this look really pop!

  1. I love this post! It looks beautiful and I love the tip, I have quite small eyems so think I’ll give the eye shadow cream tip a go. Blending further up sounds crazy but it looks really beautiful! Thank you for this post!

    1. Oh I am so happy you like the look! I find the cream shadow tip for smaller eyes is REALLY helpful. Using regular liner can often close the eyes more. I thought it sounded crazy at first too, especially with a darker color but I love how it came out! Thank you for your comment 🙂 xx

  2. I’m inspired! Would love to get myself some RMS cream eyeshadows…I have no eyeshadows what so ever right now (booooo!) and have been using bronzer on my lids instead. One make-up deprived lady right now.

    1. Yay! So happy you are inspired 🙂 and no eyeshadows!? you have to get on that! although bronzer on the eyelids can be beautiful. I love to do that sometimes. The RMS cream shadows are truly beautiful and a luxurious treat. A little goes a long, long way so it’s worth the price in my opinion. You should also check out Zuzu Luxe’s eyeshadows. They are beautiful also!

      1. I know it’s terrible, I always seem to prioritise skincare purchases over make-up but it has to stop! I have enough oils and what not 🙂 Haven’t heard of Zuzu Luxe before, thanks for the tip Britanie!

  3. Maybe I’m going to buy the RMS cover up, I’ve clicked on the link and the ingredients are very nice! (:
I really love the fact that you’re reviewing/showing products that has lovely ingredients, thank you so much for that! Than I know some new products that I’ve never heard of it before.

    1. So pretty! I must give the RMS shadows a go. I have slightly greasy lids though, so I find shadows crease on me very easily.
