The Best of 2013

best of 2013

Happy New Year to All!!!

“You can’t know where you’re going until you know where you came from…”

Let’s take a look back at 2013, shall we?

Thank you all so much for helping and continuing to support me to do the thing I soooo love to do! Bring you honest reviews of natural & organic beauty, as well as  introduce you to niche companies that maybe you had never heard of before.

I love to discover. I love to find a company that has sustainable business practices as well as clean beautiful ingredients. One that also helps to make the world a better place by giving back to causes close to their heart. And finally by creating products that do what they promise.

2013 was a huge year for me personally as well as for  this site. Between being asked to be part of the Organic Beauty Talk Team, working with Eco Diva Beautycontributing to Lucky Magazine, being interviewed on MyChicLifeMarigtMaeArantha’s Gourmet Life, and Bailey Blush. And then reaching over 1,500 likes on my Facebook page!

Wow, it was a milestone year for me! Mostly because of YOU.  Because of your loyalty, comments and likes, these have meant the most to me. I’m honored that you allow me daily to help you navigate the “murky” waters of the cosmetic & beauty industry!

Attending A Night For Green Beauty Event in NYC  was one of the biggest highlights of all 2013 and being able to connect with so many like-minded individuals in this community and to be able to call so many of you friends has been the most amazing experience of this journey.

I discovered and re-discovered so many amazing brands and products this year. It was hard to narrow down my favorite stand-out products from the entire year. I am mentioning the brands and products that I used the most this year and that I recommended the most to friends, family members and readers.

CV Skinlabs was by far the best brand discovery for me in 2013. Between the Restorative Skin Balm which is my savior for eczema, the Calming Moisture Cream that completely cleared up my contact dermatitis (proof here), the Body Repair Lotion which is literally the only lotion I use on my skin currently because it helps rid me of ANY itching! The Rescue + Relief Spray which helps to set makeup and relieve any skin irritations such as itching, redness, eczema, etc. This entire line has been a miracle in my life. I recommend this brand to literally everyone.

R.L. Linden & Co Thousand Petal Beautifying Mist was such a blessing to discover. I have said this before and I will say it again: I have no idea how I ever lived without this uniquely refreshing, hydrating and calming facial mist. It doubles as the perfect complexion pick-me-up as well as an aromatherapy treatment.

I simplified my cleansing routine drastically this year because my skin was incredibly sensitive. The one consistent cleanser I reached for throughout the year was Pai Skincare Camellia & Rose Gentle Hydrating Cleanser. It doubles as a face and eye makeup remover and it’s gentle enough to use every day.

I found my holy-grail pesky blemish fighter in Osmia Organics Spot Treatment which literally works overnight for me at getting rid of any breakouts. I also have to mention Osmia Organics Active Gel Nutrient Serum because it’s the best oil-free serum I have ever used. Any redness is instantly diminished within one use of this product. It is a genius product.

My favorite oil-based serum for all of 2013 was One Love Organics Morning Glory Brightening Complexion Serum. It does what is claims to do; brighten, as well as moisturizing and  triples as the the perfect pre-makeup primer.

My go-to foundation and SPF of choice most of 2013 was Jane Iredale’s DreamTint Tinted Moisturizer. It was the only foundation I would wear while my skin was reacting and I found the coverage was just enough to cover any redness while still letting my skin breathe.

May Lindstrom Skin The Problem Solver was my favorite mask all of 2013. Perfect for spot treating or for using on nights when your skin needs a little extra love.

The best blush hands down goes to Kjaer Weis Desired Glow. It gives the most beautiful color to the cheeks and you just can’t get much sleeker which packaging! Did I mention the formulation? Like cream and silk combined~

RMS Beauty Buruti Bronzer made me a believer in bronzers.  It somehow manages to work on all skin-tones including extremely fair skin like mine! It never looks muddy or orange and blends beautifully as an all-over bronzer and to contour.

Ilia Beauty Neon Angel Lipstick was my favorite lipstick find for the entire year. It is so pigmented and long-wearing.

I helped to keep my anxiety at bay the last few months with H.Gillerman Organics Stress Remedy. This blend has helped to combat stress, anxiety and panic attacks. It also really helps with insomnia. I cannot say enough good things about all of Hope’s remarkable blends!’

May 2014 bring you all Health, Peace & Happiness and remember to keep Living Beautifully, from the Inside/ Out, of course!!
