Makeup Look: Dark Red Lips and Lots of Lashes!

I recently did an entire green beauty look for Organic Beauty Talk and I wanted to also share it on my blog as I think it’s a perfect look to wear with Valentine’s Day approaching! The dark lip is perfect for a sexy night out.

For this look I wanted to do something dramatic and yet wearable for this winter season. I combined a purple silvery eye shadow with some dark browns to balance out the color, warm rosy cheeks with a subtle glow, and of course, dark lips to complete the look! I’m also wearing some new false lashes from EcoTools and am very excited that they have a non-toxic eyelash glue. Finally, I can wear false lashes again without having to compromise my health standards. Of course, the lashes are optional but I like them on special occasions to add a little more drama to the entire look.

For The Face: I started out by applying the new Kjaer Weis Foundation in Like Porcelain as a concealer to targeted areas on my face that needed coverage. I then used Alima Pure’s Satin Matte Foundation all over my face. To add some color to my face, I used Alima Pure Maracaibo Bronzer and topped it off with a light wash of the beautiful and highly pigmented (you only need a tiny bit of this for both cheeks) Ecco Bella FlowerColor Blush in Coral Rose. For a highlighter, I dabbed RMS Beauty Living Luminizer on top of the blush and also to the highest points of my cheekbones.

For The Eyes: For a base on my eye shadows, I actually just used a light wash of the Kjaer Weis Foundation and set it with the Alima Pure Satin Matte Foundation. This helped to make the eye shadows look more pigmented and prevented creasing. I started with the Benecos Natural Baked Eyeshadow in Melange Silver Purple and applied it all over my lid and to my lower lash-line, focusing mainly on the inner half of the eye. To add some shimmer and to bring out more of the silver that is in the Benecos Eyeshadow, I used my finger to pack on the Alima Pure Shimmer Eyeshadow in Ava and dabbed this on the inner part of the lid. To add depth, I applied Gabriel Color Chocolate Brown Eyeshadow to the outer crease and to the lower lash-line. I finished the eyes with Zuzu Luxe Raven Liquid Eyeliner and applied the EcoTools Wispy and Flared Eyelashes which comes with their non-toxic eye glue!

For The Lips: I started by moisturizing my lips with R.L. Linden & Co La Balmba Rose Healing Rose Balm since the weather is cooler my lips need extra loving care. This balm is creamy and moisturizing and wears beautifully under or over top lipsticks and lip glosses. I applied one of my new favorite winter lip colors, Fierce by Red Apple Lipstick. This natural lipstick is gluten-free, incredibly pigmented and long-lasting!

So what do you think? Will you be wearing dark red lips for Valentine’s Day?

  1. Ohmygod, ohmygod, ohmygod. I can’t even handle this look! So gorgeous! You are so stunning and the combinations are spot on. This is one of my favorite looks done by you yet!

    1. The ecotools glue has made me soo excited about wearing falsies too!!! so exciting. Which falsies are your favorite? I am still searching for the best pair… most are too long and I have to cut them.

  2. GIRL! You look stunning. I love how flirty your eyes look with those lashes and the way you applied the shadow. And I know I say this every time, BUT GAH YOUR LIPS! I love a good, full, red pucker, and I will def be sporting mine on Friday at work 🙂 xoxo

    1. Thanks love. I hear you on the smearing it all over your face… haha the only drawback of wearing dark lips! I usually wipe most of it off before I eat and then reapply after in the bathroom 😉

  3. Stunning! May I ask what shade you are in Alima pure’s satin matte foundation? I am currently trying to find my perfect match…

  4. Gorgeous! I am thinking of trying a similar coloured lip for dinner tonight. I know I have one somewhere… I just have to dig it up!

      1. Yes! I found a Revlon lipstick, “Sultry Sable”. I love it! Hope you enjoyed your weekend 🙂
