Spring Look: Strong, Beautiful, Free.

I am back with another fashion post! I am so happy to be doing these. It’s nice having a fiance who is a photographer and beautiful places to drive to. To be completely honest with all of you, one of the reasons I stopped doing fashion posts was because I was “waiting” to lose weight. I touch on the importance of body positivity and loving you as YOU are NOW, but I wasn’t practicing it for awhile. I kept thinking “when I lose weight THEN I will take more photos and post more.” I realized again how absolutely ridiculous that way of thinking is and what a waste of your time and your life it is.

Never wait for a number on a scale or a size on your clothes to do what it is that makes you happy. If you don’t love yourself as you are now you will not love yourself when you are where you think you need to be. Focus on health and happiness and keep living and enjoying yourself every step of the way on your journey. Just as my shirt says: Strong, Beautiful, Free.

I ended up having such a beautiful day on this photoshoot. We went to the beach and I was feeling very proud of myself for having pushed myself that day as I had been dealing with a flare up from Fibromyalgia but I decided to do go out anyway and do a little photoshoot. I can also tell in these photographs that I was genuinely happy and feeling confident about myself.  It was also the day before the Pink Full Moon so it was exceptionally beautiful and we got some fun photos of me with the moon. 🙂 I am a moon child after all.

My outfit was inspired by my shirt which is from the brand Wakened Apparel. It is an eco-conscious and ethical brand that donates 10% from each sale of an item to it’s designated charity partner. I absolutely love to support brands like this that are not only conscious but give back. It makes me happy to give my money and support to companies like this one. The shirt I am wearing in this shoot is sold out but there are so many more that are beautiful. This is on my wishlist next!

It is Spring but it’s still a little chilly so this outfit was perfect for the beach. I have worn this hat in a few shoots now and I can’t get enough of it. I now own two hats from Your Summer Skin and they are some of my favorites. Especially the Joy Fedora as it goes with every outfit and it was the hat I wore when I got engaged! It is protective against harmful sun-rays so although I let my skin get 20-30 mins of unprotected sunlight daily, I then like to wear a mineral-based SPF, sunglasses and a good hat the rest of the day!
