Nourish Organic Almond Vanilla Deodorant is lightly scented with organic vanilla and almond, this blend of naturally deodorizing cornstarch and vegetable protein, soothing shea and cocoa butters, beeswax, and coconut oil leaves you feeling fresh all day, every day.
All products from Nourish are cruelty free and chemical free and contain no parabens, phthalates, petrochemicals, artificial fragrances or preservatives, silicones, propylene glycol, mineral oils, sulfates, synthetic dyes, triclosan, edta, or aluminum.
Since switching over to completely non-toxic makeup and skincare products one of the hardest things to find (mascara being second) is a natural deodorant that actually works. The chemicals that are in most deodorants are extremely harmful to our health and especially for women as it can severely mess with hormones. One thing everyone should be more careful with is deodorant as our under arms are so delicate and 60% of what we are putting on our skin is absorbed into our bloodstream. When you combine that with freshly shaved skin it makes it even easier to seep in there. It’s something to really think about and to take more seriously.
After having a reaction to what seems to be the baking soda in a deodorant cream I recently tried and fell in love with, I was feeling very discouraged. I mentioned my issue on twitter and I was recommended the Nourish organic deodorant which contains no baking soda and is 100% organic. I decided to check it out and I am very happy that I did!
Ingredients: Organic Cocos Nucifera (Coconut Oil), Organic Beeswax, Organic Zea Mays (Corn Starch), Organic Theobroma Cacao (Cocoa Seed Butter), Organic Butyrospermum (Shea Butter), Organic Saccharomyces Ferment, Organic Fragrance.
My Thoughts: I have to start off by saying that I love the smell of this. Of course it contains two of my very favorite scents, almond and vanilla. I find the scent to be extremely subtle and refreshing. Every now and then I will get a whiff of vanilla. The lasting power of this deodorant I think depends on the person wearing it. I do not sweat much at all but I did notice that by the end of the night that this starts to wear off a bit for me. I reapply it before bed and I am all set. This is a very impressive deodorant for being organic and completely non-toxic. I have to say that I would definitely recommend this to anyone out there looking for a good deodorant (natural or not). I will continue using this as my main deodorant and plan to try the other scents as well and I am also very intrigued by their body products!! I have a feeling I will be featuring more from Nourish on my blog in the future!

I am sensitive to baking soda too it itches my armpits like crazy 😦 although I would have to say along with the baking soda and everything else it really works.
I am currently using Dr. Hauschka as it is a much more gentle version (does not even hurt to apply after I shave/wax). This one that you mentioned sounds so delicious!! Almond and Vanilla yum!
It seems like a lot of people have a sensitivity to baking soda! I am not sure if that’s exactly what caused my reaction but it seems the most likely. I have never tried any deodorants from Dr. Hauschka! I really love this one from Nourish and am really pleased with the results. The smell is soo good! It’s very subtle and so refreshing 🙂
What I understand from reading around is that baking soda is a type of exfoliants. So unlike rubbing baking soda on your face, baking soda in the armpits repetitively ‘exfoliate’ the skin. So maybe that’s what causes the sensitivity? It probably depends what type of skin can handle this, so that’s why only some people can tolerate.

Does it work on really hot days when you go to the gym after work? Is it really effective on super warm days?
Honestly, I can’t say if it would as it hasn’t been hot here at all and I don’t work out hard but it worked fine for me after doing a decent amount of Yoga and being out all day long!
I just purchased some Desert Essence deodorant. I’m going to give it a week or two. If I don’t like it, I might try this one.
I can’t remember who else did a review of this recently but I have seen nothing but raves! I bought Fresh Fig today and am super excited to try it. Although, Almond Vanilla smelled delicious as well. Thanks for the review! Been in the market for a new deodorant after my Mr. Mist started drying out my underarms.

I want to try Fresh Fig next!!! I’ve heard great things about that one! Let me know what you think! I use the almond vanilla every day and love it!
I’m liking the scent so far but it gets gritty. Does your get gritty? I had to remove a layer from the deodorant because it hurts to apply it. It wasn’t like that the first couple of times I used it. So weird.
That’s really funny because I noticed mine started to get a bit gritty as well! It almost felt like an exfoliation when I was applying it under my arms! but now it is really creamy and doesn’t feel gritty at all! I am wondering if it needs a little time to warm up? Let me know if it changes for you!
Is it weird that I feel SO much better that it was gritty for you too? Lol. I thought either I was crazy or got a bad batch. Thank you!

haha not weird at all!!!! when I tried out a cream deodorant recently I had a reaction from it and when I found a few other people who had the same reaction I felt relief that it wasn’t just me!! You’re not crazy and I don’t think it’s a case of a bad batch I think it’s just how it is! mine isn’t gritty anymore so let me know if yours gets better!!
Thank you for this! This is super information. I have been using Mitchum because the company doesn’t test on animals, but it is far from natural. I’ve tried Toms of Maine and it just doesn’t work all that well for me. I am dying to try this. Great blog!
Thank you so much for following! I just followed you as well!!!! I used Toms of Maine as well and still do from time to time but it doesn’t hold up as well as the Nourish. Please let me know if you try this deodorant and what you think! So far I really like it a lot. It’s hard to find a really decent natural deodorant!
Thanks again!!! xoxo
ps. I’m adding your blog to my blog roll. 🙂
I’m using this now, along with like 9 others. I really like this deodorant, ill due a lil review on it too. But I also have found, with almost all natural deo that I have to re-apply to maintain complete freshness
