My Thoughts: I am a huge fan of using face masks and although I am a sucker for creating my own home made face masks, I like to have a mask that I can reach for that is easy to use and not extremely messy! This is it! The texture of this mask is very thick (and super easy to apply) and has a light smell of sage and spearmint essential oils which I find to be very relaxing especially when using this mask before bed. French clay is amazing at drawing out impurities and moroccan argan and sea buckthorn oils provide serious layers of deep cleansing! This is a mask that I see instant results with after using. It instantly brightens my face and clears any blemishes over night, not to mention it leaves my face feeling so soft! It does an amazing job in only ten minutes! This is a go-to favorite of mine that I will continue to use for a long time.

Do you use any face masks, if so what are your favorites?

xoxo,

Britanie

  1. Lovely, this looks amazing. I will be ordering this immediately. Do you think this would work for (admittedly very mild) sun damage? I’m very fair skinned, got a bit of a burn on my chest this summer, and would like to nip any future problems in the bud.

I’ve been away for a while with health problems (although I am sending you something in the mail in a day or two!), just returned, but for what it’s worth, I keep both your lovely tumblr and this fantastic blog (which has introduces me to so many new beautiful products and supplements to experiment with!) on my google reader, and I absolutely adore it.

As for my favorite masks, I’m generally drawn to the clay-based ones. Preferably French green clay (which I also occasionally drink), does amazing things for sensitive skin prone to irritation or rashes, and works wonders on little bug bites, burns, etc.

Are you familiar with Alaskan Glacial Mud Masks? (You can find them here: http://www.alaskaglacialmud.com ) Those things are truly magical, and the company is absolutely divine. They also make a wonderful body soap that my skin adores.

    ❤ ❤

  2. Bah! I just wrote out a nice, long comment and my laptop crashed, taking the whole thing with it. Curses.

Anyway, this looks absolutely amazing, lovely! I will be ordering this immediately. Do you think it would work for (admittedly very mild, possibly non-existent) sun damage? i’m extremely fair skinned, burned my chest a bit this summer, and would like to nip any future problems in the bud.

I’ve been away for quite some time with health problems (you’ve been dealing with them yourself, I see. Poor, sweet love; you are brave and glorious and a shining warrior that will kick the ever-living shit out of any and all who stand in your way.), but for what it’s worth, I have both your beautiful tumblr and this fantastic blog (the end-all, be-all beauty/health blog, as far as I’m concerned) on my google reader, and I absolutely adore them. This blog especially, which has introduced me to so many wonderful new products and supplements to experiment with.

Also, I have an extremely long letter + a small gift for you, which I will be sending via snail mail sometime within the next week.

As for masks, I generally prefer clay masks. Aztec Secret (I believe you referenced that in a post above) is wonderful, but I am rather devoted to French green clay. I even drink it, on occasion! So many wonderful benefits. If you’re ever looking for a quality, fair-trade, organic source of clays/herbs/oils/etc, check out http://www.mountainroseherbs.com. I order from them almost exclusively, and they are fabulous. Lately I’ve been obsessed with their Tamanu oil (best price I’ve seen, thus far) — are you familiar with it at all? Smells a bit like rancid soy sauce to me, but has reduced the very large surgical scar on my back a great deal.

Lastly, have you heard of Alaskan Glacial Mud? Was actually going to mention this to you via email, but was derailed. They make a gorgeous facial mask, chalk full of wonderful ingredients, and the company itself is divine. They also make a wonderful body soap loaded with skin-friendly minerals. You can check them out here: http://www.alaskaglacialmud.com

Adoring this blog, lovely creature. ❤

  3. This looks great. You are intruding me to very exciting products, I really need to try this. I love a clay mask .
    xo

      1. Yes, that is normal. For some pepole who are acne prone, if they have an acne breakout it is because all the gunk is being pulled to the surface. Acne typically happens over the course of months, and all this did was pull it all up to clear it all out. This is typically called a purge. If its like a rash breakout, it would be an allergic reaction.
