My Current Skincare Routine

I like to change up my beauty routine every now and then, especially when the weather changes and my skin needs more or less care. This is the routine I have been using for the past month and this routine has helped keep my latest bout of Eczema at bay and has also kept any blemishes from forming. My skin feels hydrated and looks clearer and healthier.

The Basics:

Tea Tree Therapy Antiseptic Solution Tea Tree Oil and Lavender I use this for my face and body. It is a natural astringent for the face and clears up any grime or bacteria. It has a relaxing smell to it thanks so the Lavender and although it does contain some Alcohol – it doesn’t ever seem to dry out my skin or irritate my skin in any way. I like to use this at night after cleansing to remove any excess makeup. It’s also wonderful to use on the body after shaving or just to keep yourself extra clean!

Nature’s Gate Pure Vitamin E Oil Roll-OnI have used pure Vitamin E Oil in the past with good results but this particular oil is perfect because it comes in a roll-on applicator which makes it so easy to apply to specific areas, especially around the eyes. Vitamin E is amazing for dryness, wrinkles and has many anti-aging properties.

Badger Damascus Rose SPF16 Sunscreen Moisturizer This is my current daytime moisturizer and SPF. I usually up my SPF during the spring and summer months but this moisturizer has been perfect in the winter and goes on very easily without leaving over any white cast. I also love the scent!

Weleda Almond Facial Cream (mentioned here) This is my favorite night (and sometimes day) cream. I love this facial cream so much. I cannot believe I haven’t found it sooner. it has helped my dry skin more than I can express. I am very sensitive to facial creams and sometimes even natural ones can tend to contain too many essential oils or botanicals that will irritate my skin, but this cream contains only a few simple ingredients that really help to nourish my skin over night.

Giovanni Refreshing Citrus and Cucumber Cleansing Towelettes I always use some type of cleansing towelettes and these are my newest find. I really enjoy these and find them to be very moisturizing. I like to have cleansing towelettes for days or nights when I don’t feel like using water or a cleanser to remove makeup or to just freshen up my face.

Mario Badescu Control CreamI heard about this cream when researching remedies for eyelid eczema/dermatitis and this product kept coming up in forums. I decided to order a small container of it and am really, really loving it. It helps keep redness at bay and the main ingredient, Balsam Peru, is a powerful botanical that provides soothing to skin immediately after application. This cream is perfect for anyone with irritated, sensitive, dry, eczema or rosacea-prone skin.

Facial Exfoliating Pad- These are super affordable and you can find them at most super markets or drugstores. They are really easy to use and wonderful at giving a light or intense exfoliation. I usually wet these with warm water and use on it’s own to gently massage my face or I will use it to massage and remove whatever cleanser I am using.

Elizabeth Arden 8 Hour Cream (mentioned here) This is the only non-natural product in my entire beauty routine. I do not like that it contains Petroleum and Mineral Oil but I can’t deny the fact that it seriously cures my eyelid eczema overnight and helps with intense hydration. I use small amounts of this on small areas so I am not too worried about it not being natural.

The Extras:

Suki Exfoliating Foaming Cleanser (mentioned here) My new favorite facial scrub/cleanser. I only use this twice a week as it is a very intense exfoliation, but the day after using this I can see that my skin looks and feels so much clearer.

Stark Skincare Grapefruit Balm I received this balm a few weeks ago and it was the perfect deep hydration treatment for my skin. It’s wonderful for removing makeup and for leaving on as a moisturizing mask. I like to use this once or twice a week. I plan to do a full review on this product after at least a month of using it.

Osmia Organics Honey-Myrrh Lip Repair (review here) I can’t mention this little jar of joy enough. It saves my lips every night. best lip treatment in a jar.

Aura Cacia Sandalwood Essential Oil (mentioned here) I like to use this on dry patches on my skin or on any blemishes. Sandalwood works wonders at fighting bacteria and clearing up eczema or irritated skin and it also smells delicious.

      1. Hi Britanie,
the 8 hour cream was the last “dirty” product to leave my skin care routine as well… I did eventually find a perfect replacement though. It’s called Moa balm and it’s a really wonderful little product.
It’s a British product (I am in Europe), but I think you can find it on feelunique.com and they do ship everywhere.
Let me know if you try it!
Btw, I really like your blog and this is my first comment 🙂

      2. Hey Dafne,
Thank you for your comment. I will definitely look into that product as I am trying to find an alternative to the 8 Hour Cream but will continue to use it until I find something else that helps me as much! I appreciate the recommendation and compliment ❤

  1. Great post! I love seeing full routines like this 🙂 I don’t think I’ve tried any of these, but I’ve literally been *this close* to ordering the Suki cleanser a few times. I’m sure I’ll give in one of these days!

    1. Hey Caitie,
Thanks for commenting! I love seeing full routines too 🙂 The Suki cleanser is so worth it. I was thrown off by the price but honestly it will last forever because the smallest amount goes such a long way

  2. You wrote (review here) but there was no link for the Weleda Almond Face Cream xD. These product looks amazing! I’m trying to find some new skincare product as the one I’m using now aren’t really clean. Will definitely look into the ones mentioned! Great review!

    1. Hey! Yes I just removed that. My computer is acting up right now and not letting me copy and paste. I plan to go back and link each product and their reviews, etc. Sorry about that! The cream is wonderful. I highly recommend it, especially if you have sensitive skin.

  3. I’ve heard many makeup artists say that the 8 Hour Cream is really glorified Vaseline, but just thinner. Do you think maybe a petroleum jelly alternative like Waxelene or Alba Botanica’s Un-Petroleum Jelly would work similarly? Just a suggestion ^_^

    1. I have heard that too! I have tried the Un-Petroleum and although I love it, it doesn’t help with the eczema. I haven’t tried the Waxelene but I have tried all of the ingredients in that product on their own without much help. Unfortunately there seems to be something about the Petroleum jelly that is helping the eczema. I am still on the look out for another alternative!

      1. I haven’t tried the Un-Petroleum, but I’ve been using Waxelene for about a year. I seriously can’t live without it 🙂 I highly recommend it as it’s such an awesome multifunctional product. Good luck on your quest to finding a natural product for your eczema!

  4. I’ve been kind of awful about not wearing an SPF during winter, but spring is coming so I finally broke out my DeVita Solar Protect SPF 30 moisturizer. I love a good facial wipe, too! I usually use the chamomile towelettes by Blum Naturals. You know, taking nightly baths with coconut oil and lavender and moisturizing with coconut oil/raw shea butter really helps keep my eczema at bay, but I don’t suppose that really helps your eyelid eczema. But, I just heard of this natural skin care line called Pratima Skin Care, and they have an eczema/psoriasis nourishing oil for the eyelids/face. I think they also have a lotion. Might be worth a shot! I hope you find something that works for you! 🙂

  5. Nice stuff – Tea Tree Oil is a great skin care product. It clears the complexion and purifies the pores. Doing a facial steaming with a few drops of tea tree oil in the water is one of the fastest ways to get rid of acne and keep clear skin. Thanks for sharing!
