At this busy, beautiful, albeit hectic time of the year I wanted to talk a little bit about calming yourself down before heading off to sleep all while sharing some of my nighstand staples! As we all know, but have to be reminded of, our beauty sleep is of the utmost priority. It’s right up there after drinking our filtered water, eating right, then at least eight hours of pure relaxing sleep.
I wanted to share with you a little bit my night time ritual to help me slip off into a luxurious deep restorative sleep. I also wanted to mention that with the Fibromyalgia I suffer from, sleep is not something I take for granted. I like to have many books, notebooks, balms, mists, flower essences and aromatherapy galore near my bed.
[ May Lindstrom Skin The Good Stuff, H. Gillerman Organics Stress Remedy, Claire Ellen Topicals ProSirona and Neuroquell, Banyan Botanicals Organic Nasya Oil. }
Hydration is key when it comes to healthy skin. What’s even better is when hydration and aromatherapy are combined. Enter: The Good Stuff. This is the best smelling body oil out there. It also makes you feel sexy and who doesn’t enjoy waking up to glowing skin? For times of stress or on nights when I feel restless (which is often) I use this Stress Remedy from H.Gillerman Organics daily and nightly. I like to apply a few drops to my temples and pulse points. This not only helps with anxiety but is great for those with insomnia. I also use topical essential oils for relief from Fibromyalgia and Endometriosis pain. They help me to sleep better because I find that when I use them regularly, I wake up less throughout the night with pain. I also have allergies and sinus problems which can great affect your quality of sleep, so I usually keep some type of nasal oil near my bed. The Banyan Botanicals has Eucalyptus oil in it and helps to decongest the sinuses and lubricate the nasal passages.
[ Lotus Wei Inner Peace Balancing Serum and Energy Mist, R.L. Linden & Co Thousand Petal Beautifying Mist and La Balmba Rose Healing Balm, Erbaviva Relax Spray ]
I can’t get enough of facial mists and flower essences. Lotus Wei’s blends work immediately and I especially love to rub the Inner Peace Serum on the bottoms of my feet before sleep. It helps with insomnia or restless sleep. R.L. Linden & Co’s Thousand Petal Beautifying Mist is one of those products that I could never be without. I use it on my face when I wake up and right before bed. Scents of Jasmine, Rose and Neroli help me to fall into a deep slumber…
[ Badger Balm For Sensitive Dry Skin, Skinfare Apothacary Prime Coconut Oil Stick, Osmia Organics Lip Balm, Blum Perfume Oil & Spot Treatment, La Bella Figura Bohemia Verde Aromatic Hair Elixir, Paddywax Lavender & Grapefruit Candle, Barefoot Yoga Silk Eye Pillow. ]
I like to moisturize my hands and nails, especially before bed because I hate doing it during the day and then working on the computer and getting oil all over the place. I also always keep a Spot Treatment near my bed to dab on before I sleep and help to fight any pimples that might be starting to come out! I have been using the Bohemia Verde on the ends of my hair before bed and I wake up with noticeably shinier and deliciously smelling hair! A good candle and an eye pillow are essential for me. This lavender and grapefruit candle smells wonderful and this silk eye pillow helps with headaches, eye strain and a better sleep!

I have been carrying around a bottle of rose essential oil recently, after reading some of your posts about essential oils. It is an instant way for me to relax. Thanks for the idea!
I am so happy that you are loving rose essential oil! It is so wonderful. I spritz my face with rosewater throughout the day. I also love drinking rose tea! So happy it’s helping you!
i have this vetiver cardamom candle that i love to burn before a little yoga or stretch session. puts me in the sleepy zone everytime!
mmm vetiver and cardamom! That sounds delicious. Great idea 🙂
I love the Lotus Wei Quiet Mind for sleep. I find it really helps me unwind and relax. I have that Essential Oil/Aromatherapy book too. It’s amazing!
I always have the Badger Sleep Balm and a Kiss My Face chapstick on my nightstand. I also keep little dishes for when I take off my jewelry at night.
Britanie, how do you use the silk eye pillow exactly…do you sleep with it, or just leave it on for a while? Ah, I’ve been coveting that complete book of essential oils for some time, do you recommend it?
I loved taking a peek at your nightstand!

Looks so pretty, your collection is gorgeous!<3 xx
There is always a tall glass of filtered water on my nightstand. ALWAYS! Then, I have rose (in jojoba oil) essential oil, lemon essential oil, orange essential oil, grapefruit essential oil, and peppermint essential oil. If I’m feeling particularly anxious, I mix a little of the citrus with some argan oil and massage it into my chest to help me sleep happily. The peppermint is there to help wake me up in the morning.
Ooh, May Lindstrom! Fancy! I always keep Vapour Organic Beauty’s cuticle oil at my bedside. It’s the best one I’ve tried; it absorbs very quickly and is incredibly nourishing. I apply to my nails at bedtime, then I smooth Badger’s Night Night Balm on my hands, cup my hands over my face and inhale deeply. Its scent is so beautiful and soothing! Pratima Skincare’s Pitta Balancing Body Oil is my favorite body oil, and it also usually resides on my nightstand.
I totally forgot to add Hurraw’s Dream Balm! It’s their special nighttime lip balm- creamy, soothing, and so, so moisturizing.
great post! lots of products :-)! great skincare brands :-)..I tend to use one or 2 products at night and stick to it for a good month/time…I try not too switch too much because I feel skin may becomes a bit unhappy 🙂
