Sequoia Beauty is an organic flower and herb based skin care line with an emphasis on local ingredients. The products cater to the needs of your skin, as well as your own physical and spiritual well-being. Sequoia Beauty started as a result of seeing how mainstream beauty products can affect people’s health. The majority of Sequoia Beauty’s ingredients are grown by local farmers and herbalists or straight from Laurel’s garden. Every ingredient is straight from plants, all non-gmo. And over all the products range from 97-100% organic or wild crafted. This is an important number to know since most states require ‘organic’ beauty products to be 50-70%! SB’s dedication to the purity, quality, and integrity of its local organic ingredients is like no other. ALL Sequoia Beauty products, contain herbs that stimulate collagen production, promote cell regeneration and reproduction, tighten and firm pores and cells, are anti-oxidative, anti-cancer, anti-tumor, promote anti-inflammatory pathways, repair and prevent sun damage, encourage detoxing and waste elimination on a cellular level, as well as heal and repair damaged tissue, and much more!
No chemicals, parabens, or artificial fragrances are ever used, and nothing is synthetic – just organic locally grown flowers, herbs, hydrosols, and cold-pressed organic oils all formulated together with your well-being and beautiful skin in mind.
I am so happy to start 2013 off with a review of a wonderful and super clean brand. I was so happy to stumble upon Sequoia Beauty‘s site and was blown away with the beautiful photography and the descriptions of all of their products. Laurel (the owner and creator of Sequoia Beauty) was so kind and sent me the Organic Facial Hydrate Set which costs just $30.00 for very generous sample sizes. It was a great way for me to test out some of the products and to get a good enough idea of how everything worked for me since each sample is large enough to last me many uses!
Lavender Lip Healer – This healing lip balm is super smooth and soft. Comfrey is stimulating and rapidly heals, along with Calendula and Yarrow- all are local. The perfect blend of local Olive Oil, Almond, and Jojoba oils feel amazing. Lavender is most suitable for sensitive or drier skin types.
Transform Moisturizer – Moisturizer for normal, dry or mature skin. Use Transform in addition to Nourish for an extra boost of hydration to stay with you throughout the day. Rose and Calendula hydrosols promote healing, and encourage skin to hold its moisture. The same plant blend from Nourish Serum is used in Transform Cream. Licorice, anti-inflammatory. Comfrey, rapid cell reproduction. Gotu Kola, collagen stimulation. Sesame oil, antioxidants. Wheatgerm, nourishing. Sea Buckthorn oil, vit c, reverses/prevents sun damage, stimulates collagen. Small amount of Shea butter, to help skin maintain moisture throughout the day. Rare essential oils of Neroli and Sandlewood are extremely balancing and regenerative to the skin.
Tighten Toner – Rose Geranium and Rose hydrosols attract and hold moisture to the skin, as well as balance hormones. Lemon Balm is high in antioxidants and its an anti-inflammatory. Non-alcoholic Witch Hazel is firming cells and tightening pores, as well as acting intensely as an antioxidant, without drying the skin. Helichrysum and Lavender are healing damaged skin cells. Cleavers are stimulating the lymphatic system, and encouraging drainage and detox. Essential oils of Rose Geranium, Sandlewood, and Bergamot (non-photosensitizing) smell soft, fresh, and bright.
Nourish Serum – This is a moisturizing face serum which must be used to be believed. Truly healing and anti-aging to all skin types. Use Nourish in the place of a regular cream moisturizer, or in addition to for dry or mature skin. This is a moisturizer that will not clog pores, because it contains no emulsifiers, and absorbs very rapidly. Its also giving some natural sun protection. Nourish has over 30 organic plants all working on anti-aging in different ways… plants to stimulate collagen production in the skin like Gotu Kola, to reduce sun damage like Sea Buckthorn, to encourage healthy cell turnover and cell reproduction like Comfrey. Plants loaded with essentials vitamins, minerals, and EFAs essential for healthy skin function, like Nettle, Borage, and Rosehip. Vit A, B, C, E… you name it – the perfect blend of nature and science. Nourish is absolutely Mother Nature at her best, and is a favorite amongst Sequoia Beauty lovers!
Hydrate Cleanser – Removes dirt, oil, and make up, and leaves skin feeling soft and refreshed. Burdock and Dandelion encourage cellular detoxing. Licorice and Chickweed help to relax skin cells to release impurities. Calendula is antibacterial, as well as Honey. Raw Honey also helps with gentle and healthy cell turn over. Rose and Rose Geranium astringe and tighten, and also encourage the cells to plump and retain hydration. Essential oil blend is light and fresh… with notes of florals and citrus.
Almond Mineral Exfoliant– Loved by all skin types! This raw and dry exfoliant is ultra-nourishing, and can also be left on and used as a mask. The raw Almonds really feed the skin, as well as exfoliate well without over-drying. Chamomile and Marshmallow sooth and soften the skin. Nettle is filled with vitamins and minerals to nourish cells. Essential oils of Rose and Rose Geranium tighten the skin, and give off a soft feminine scent. This raw exfoliant cleanser is dry for a longer shelf life. Mix with water in your palm to use as cleanser.
Honey Berry Enzyme Mask– For most skin types. (Only excluding rosacea or cystic acne). This mask contains Raw Royal Jelly. Which is a bee secretion, that is well known for its anti-aging abilities. It delivers oxygen and other nutrients like Vit B to cells, feeding them, stimulating them, and making them over all more healthy. The enzymes found in fruits and raw honey are exfoliating, without manual exfoliation. Organic Strawberries and Blueberries are used for their enzyme and cleansing actions as well as being antioxidants. Raw honey also removes impurities, is antibacterial to bad guys as well as probiotic with good guys! And on top of all that Honey is extremely hydrating, and attracts moisture to the skin. Essential oil of Grapefruit, to add a light citrus scent to this already fruity blend.
My Overall Thoughts: The first product that really grabbed my attention from this line was the Honey Berry Enzyme mask as I am a sucker for anything Honey! I have almost used up the entire sample size I received and definitely want to get the full size. I think it just might be the most delicious smelling skincare product that I own! Immediately after washing my face with this I have a beautiful glow and my skin feels so moisturized. The other big stand out product from this line is the Nourish Serum. It won’t clog pores because it doesn’t contain emulsifiers and it absorbs so quickly. It has a very calming scent to it. I have been using this either in place of or on top of the Transform Moisturizer. It adds a natural glow to the cheeks when added under makeup or on it’s own. I have to say that I love the scent of all of the products. They are herbally but without being overwhelming. The lip healer smells just like Lavender and instantly relieves my dry lips. I will definitely be trying out more from this line and purchasing full-size items in the future. I am so happy to have discovered this brand!

I love that you keep finding new companies for me to try! I used to check the NMDL blog, but they always repeated the same old stuff. Thanks for your inspiration:)
Hey! Thank you so much. I really love to discover new brands myself and to share them 🙂 I really appreciate your comment. ❤ ❤
I rarely leave responses, however i did some searching and wound up here Beauty Buzz | Sequoia Beauty
Organic Skincare – Beauty By Britanie. And I actually do have
a couple of questions for you if you do not mind. Is it just me or does
it look like a few of these responses look like left
by brain dead visitors? 😛 And, if you are writing
