WELLNESS | Favorite Healing Topical Pain Relievers (Part 1.)

PAIN

When it comes to physical pain, it can be a frustrating & unrelenting issue that can drive a person to complete physical and mental exhaustion. Especially if you opt out of using prescription or over-the-counter pain medications. For some, chronic pain becomes part of day to day life. For those like me who suffer from chronic pain due to various conditions such as Fibromyalgia, Endometriosis, and other ailments, it is a struggle to get through the day sometimes without the desire to reach for an over-the-counter pain reliever. I’m always on the search for natural alternatives and more specifically for the ones designed for topical pain relief. I have found three products that have been helping me to get through the days with much less pain and an over-all better feeling of well being. Because after all, when your body is in balance and not sending out constant “pain signals”, then naturally you’re more inclined feel relaxed and more inclined enjoy the moment.

Whether you have chronic conditions like I do, suffer daily and need a lot of relief or if you temporarily sprained a muscle, put your back out, or maybe you have random bouts of pain, whatever the reason, all of these products have worked for me and given me some relief. Perhaps you have questions so I would advise you to contact the owner of the brand and ask them specifically. I have tried each one of these for various pain complaints and have experienced nothing short of amazing results.

PAIN2

KOSMATOLOGY WOD AID PAIN STICK – This product has been my saving grace for lower back pain. When I am under a lot of stress, Fibromyalgia acts up and one of the first places it settles is my lower back. It can be so unrelenting that it’s hard to sleep, move my body or do just about anything. This pain stick  immediately upon application starts to relieve the achiness in my back. It tingles at first, but then feels very cooling and stops my pain for at least 3-4 hours. I also have used this on the back of my neck with the same amazing results. I actually keep this product in my purse at all times! It’s so convenient because it comes in (non-messy)  stick form, which makes it perfect to quickly apply on the go. I rub a small bit into the affected area and I’m able to go about my day more comfortably. Love this product so much. (Kosmatology has offered an incredibly generous discount code of 20% off your entire order with the code “BRITANIE20”)

Ingredients (natural and organic): Organic Menthol 5%, Organic Olive Oil, Organic Shea Butter, Organic Coconut Oil, Candelilla Wax, Sambucus Nigra Fruit Extract, Organic White Willow Bark, Organic Rosemary Essential Oil, Organic Eucalyptus Essential Oil.

JIVA-APOHA PARUTKA (JOINTS) BODY OIL   I cannot begin to truly describe the feeling I had when I first applied this oil to my body. Because I am so sensitive and always do a smaller patch test when trying a new product, I had to hold myself back from applying this liberally all over my entire body.  I started by applying a small amount behind my neck where I often experience a lot of discomfort. Immediately, I smelled the fresh scent of Lemongrass and felt a cooling yet at the same time, warming feeling on the back of my neck. Within minutes, I felt the achiness start to dissipate. At the same time, it lessened the dizzy feeling that often accompanies the neck pain. I contribute this to the stimulating essential oils penetrating the nerve-endings and maybe making them less reactive?…I’m not a physician, so I’m totally speculating here…I use this on my entire back, legs, anywhere. I’m almost out of the bottle and I plan to purchase the full size. Let me tell you, it’s worth every penny. To me this oil is magical. Again, for specific questions about the application or ingredients, I would recommend contacting the brand owner.

Ingredients: All Natural Sweet Almond oil. 100% Pure Essential Turmeric, Lemongrass, Eucalyptus & Marjoram oils.

MOMOKO THERAPEUTICS PAIN BANISHING BALM   I absolutely love this brand and this product is something I never want to be without. This works for literally any type of pain that I’ve experienced and I personally use it for some relief from Endometriosis. I combine this with MOMOKO’s Menstrual Pain Oil when I am in severe discomfort and it helps me like nothing else I have ever tried. I’ve been prescribed countless options for pain relievers for Endometriosis, and although I personally refuse to take them, there have been months when the pain was so intense that I literally suffered in agony. That is, until I tried this pain banishing balm. I apply it liberally all over my lower abdomen, pelvic area, and also on my lower back during my menstrual flow. I also use this for ovulation pain a few weeks before menstruating. This remedy has helped me personally with neck, back and any widespread pain that I’ve had. (Momoko has generously offered a 15% off offer for the Pain Banishing Balm on their website. Enter the code “BYEBYEPAIN” upon checkout at momokotherapeutics.com !)

Ingredients (100% organic and vegan): Extra Virgin Olive Oil, Candelilla Wax, Coconut Oil, St. John’s Wort Extract, Arnica Montana Extract, Lemongrass, Lavender Oil, Cape Chamomile, Peppermint, Sweet Birch, Black Pepper, Wintergreen, Helichrysum Essential Oils.

Have you tried any of these products? If you have any personal remedies to recommend for specific or generalized body pain, please leave a comment! I will have another post coming up soon as I’m currently testing additional alternatives to mainstream medications. I want to find as many natural alternatives to help with pain relief that I possibly can!

  2. Hey babe, this is fantastic, glad you found something that works for you! I have chronic back pain so I’m excited to try these out. I have used before Frankincense essential oil and it really helps to relax tense muscles. Xo

  3. Thanks for the great post and information! I have fibro also and finding effective treatments to manage my pain has been challenging to say the least. I always appreciate learning about how other women are dealing with chronic pain.

  4. Thanks Britanie! I haven’t heard of any of these products so I will check them out. I’ve been experimenting with creating my own oil blends, and I find that adding a lot of wintergreen essential oil is key. CBD oil is also helpful, I can recommend a local supplier here in CA that I know is legit:)

  5. I too suffer from severe endometriosis – thanks for this helpful post and I can’t wait to try these products!

I would love to chat with you. I’ve had my eye on jiva apoha. Been thinking about contacting then to see if they can make any recommendations. Thanks for sharing your story!! XO
