Alexis Smart Flower Remedies – Safe And Sound

Safe and Sound is just one of many flower remedies offered by the beautiful Alexis Smart. Alexis is a flower remedy practitioner who studied Bach flower remedies for more than a decade, working with mentors in the direct lineage of Dr. Bach. She also studied homeopathy and has learned the link between emotional trauma and physical illness, and the miracle of healing when emotional balance is restored. I first discovered this brand after researching Dr. Bach’s Flower Remedies. When I came across Alexis’s site, I fell in love with her descriptions of every blend. I also really related to her natural approach.

Harmless and non-toxic, flower remedies are a great choice for families who wish not to use drugs, chemicals or even harsh herbal preparations or homeopathics, which may cause side effects in babies and sensitive individuals.

Let’s take a look at some of the benefits of using Safe And Sound…

  • Panic attacks
  • Fear
  • Apprehension

  • Safe
  • Calm
  • Secure

My Results:

I have now been taking the Safe and Sound every day, four times a  day for two weeks. The understanding with most natural remedies is that they can take awhile to really show results. That was not the case for me with this blend. After just two days of using this blend I noticed a difference in my anxiety. After a week I noticed that I was having to take less medication for my anxiety.

I have been experiencing increased anxiety and panic attacks after dealing with an inner ear imbalance which had caused me to live with chronic vertigo for the last three months. This condition was making it almost impossible for me to go anywhere without having panic attacks because the dizziness was so incapacitating. Many of you who have read my blog for awhile know that I suffer from chronic health issues but I haven’t spoken much about my vertigo publicly.

The moment I realized my panic attacks were out of control was when I went into my local grocery store and while I was in one of the isle’s looking at food, I was hit by a horrible dizzy spell. The room felt like it was moving and I started to panic. My entire body went numb.  I ended up leaving my grocery basket,  full of food,  and running out of the store crying. People were looking at me. It was horrible. I decided after that incident that I needed to seriously find something that would help me with the panic attacks.

Safe and Sound has been helping me to better deal with anxiety.  Having to deal with chronic anxiety is exhausting and most people don’t talk about it.  We live in a time when we are all supposed to have it all together! Some people judge anxiety as a weakness. The truth of the matter is we live in a complicated time with a lot of outside expectations as well as the self imposed ones as well. Anxiety issues are complex and manifest differently for everyone. Some people get extroverted because of nerves. For others, they need to restrict too much intensity because it’s overwhelming to their delicate nervous system. And they need to retreat to calm down.  It’s as varied as people are and nothing to be ashamed of.

We all need to be kinder to ourselves. I’m just so happy I  discovered Alexis Smart’s Flower Remedies. You (and I) can rest assured that her “Safe and Sound” is now sitting happily in my daily arsenal of helpful living tools!

I find that I just feel better when I take this blend every day. I am almost running out and plan to re-purchase. I also have my eye on a few of her other blends, especially My Personal Assistant and Beauty Formula No.8

  1. Thanks for always sharing so openly and honestly!

I have been using her “Ganesh” formula for about a month now and I really love it for a daily confidence booster and peace of mind.

I also suffer from panic attacks and anxiety 😦 so I purchased the “First Aid Kit” to use in combination with the Ganesh but use it only for times when I feel a panic attack brewing. I find that that the Ganesh formula is great for lessening the amount of panic attacks overall, but the First Aid Kit is best for using during those acute times of anxiety.

  2. Alexis’ flower remedies really do work. I’m using the beauty formula and I have noticed that not only is my skin clearer but I also worry about my appearance a lot less and feel less self conscious. I also have first aid for little emergencies and above it all which I will start after I finish the beauty formula.

  3. I’m so happy you posted a review of this product! I’ve been eyeing it since you mentioned wanting to try it in a previous post. I suffer from anxiety and panic attacks too, and I can’t tell you how much I appreciate your honesty and willingness to share your experiences. Thank you 🙂

  4. Thank you for sharing your story and this wonderful product! I totally understand how you feel and it can be dark, scary and lonely. I will give this a try…but for me, meditation also helped a great deal. luck and love, xoxo

  6. Sorry you’ve been having such a rough go of it lately! I don’t have panic attacks or anything too severe, but I have anxiety issues too. Most of it is social anxiety (I’m SO scared when I meet new people or go somewhere I’ve never been) but I also have the typical worst-case-scenario issues. I compulse a little too when I’m anxious, which gets annoying real quick! I’m going to try this out, thank you for recommending! I’m so glad you’ve found something that’s working for you!

    1. Hi Briana,
This is Alexis Smart. I read your post and wanted to suggest Wallflower for social anxiety. It would be a better fit than Safe and Sound. It does contain anxiety remedies but more specifically to the kind you are describing.
      All the Best,

  7. Very helpful post. Thank you for sharing your story and results. I have wanted to try flower remedies but am allergic to alcohol. Do you happen to know if the non-alcoholic version is as effective as the version with alcohol?

    1. Hi Jennifer! The non-alcoholic version should be just as effective. I would definitely try that version. I plan to get the alcohol-free version next as I prefer to have it without because my stomach is so sensitive!

    2. The only difference between the alcohol and non-alcohol version I believe is shelf life. If it’s got alcohol you can keep it a LONG LONG time but if it is non-alcohol it does not stay fresh as long after it has been opened.

BUT the results you get from using alcohol based and non-alcohol based should be exactly the same. No difference what so ever in effectiveness.

Here are a couple of links from the BachCenter that give more information about using alcohol and non-alcohol …

Topic: “Do you need to add alcohol to a treatment bottle?” …
      … it mentions …
“Other ‘non-alcoholic’ ways of keeping the contents fresh include keeping the bottle in a fridge, or adding a teaspoon of cider vinegar or vegetable glycerine.”
… They also mention ways to use the alcohol version without consuming alcohol …
(if you are allergic ask your Doctor if that would be OK for you to follow their suggestion)
… “if the remedies are dropped into a hot drink most or all of the alcohol will evaporate, and it is of course possible to administer the remedies externally by rubbing them on the pulse points.”

Oh … and I just started using Alexis Smart’s flower remedies myself only a few days ago (WholeHearted) and I already am convinced she knows her stuff. I have an interest in both homeopathy and flower essences and have read about both on my own. But creating blends with Bach’s single remedies … well I’m not that successful myself at that yet … at least, not for the major stuff I’m going through right now. So it’s nice to have someone who has really studied this with well respected mentors in the field (and not just read a book or two on the topic –like myself) handle figuring out the combination for me.

Oh and as far as my feelings about WholeHearted …
I felt a difference after one day of using Alexis’ WholeHearted. I am going through SO MANY major crises at the same time that it is a miracle I survived. (We are stronger then we think we are). But surviving is not enough … in the long run one has to function and become normal/healthy again otherwise what good is just staying alive. Alexis’ remedies are helping with that.

(since someone mentioned meditation I will mention that I also have gotten benefit from using … I usually listen to two or three in a row at night before going to bed)

      1. I just noticed that Alixis commented below that …
“The alcohol is only used as a preservative. Alcohol-free uses veg. glycerine as a preservative but is the same.”

So you don’t even have to worry much about shelf life with the non-alcohol if that is the case. I guess the question has pretty much been answered already. So as Gilda Radner (Emily Litella) used to say on ‘Saturday Night Live’ …

For those who never saw Gilda/Emily on SNL …

Their is some interesting information about flower remedies at that link I posted so you might find it interesting and helpful even if the question between alcohol and non-alcohol has pretty much already been answered.

Oh and the info that you can also use the flower remedies on pulse points rather than taking it internally — that works nicely with pets who won’t let you give them it using a dropper … or children and infants who are uncooperative. (With pets a good spot is the inside of the ear where there is little or no hair so it will reach the skin).

  8. Hi Britanie–I have issues with vertigo (and accompanying nausea) as well. I have an autoimmune disease called Meniere’s, too much fluid in the inner ear. I get it, the vertigo is debilitating and can really impact your lifestyle. I’m glad you found something that works for you. I don’t leave home without my dramamine and meclizine. I also just started a homeopathic remedy called cocculus compositum—so far it’s been fast acting and pretty strong. Maybe we can share tips as we fight this?! Best wishes to you…

    1. I was going to mention Meniere’s also Lynne…my grandmother suffers with it. She’s a very fit and healthy individual but every now and again she’ll have an ‘attack’ and she won’t be able to do anything that day from the gidiness…so horrible. I may look into the homoeopathic remedy you mentioned for her.

Britianie, I think it’s so great that you share these things with others. A couple of years I was having anxiety attacks everyday due to a stressful and upsetting situation. I went to my local health food store and the owner was so wonderful. Explained to him everything I was feeling and he took me to the back of the store and showed me simple but effective meditation techniques. I’m fine now, but my mum also suffers from severe anxiety and takes god knows how many meds, I hate it. Would love to get a flower remedy for her.

      Mayah x

  9. Bless your heart…

So sorry you have to deal with this.I don’t have issues to your extent, but I have my times. I’m sure many have said things in good intention to help, but in case you aren’t aware- something that helps me is approaching things from an energy angle. You may already meditate, or may not subscribe to those types of “medicine”, but personally I believe our bodies are nothing if not energy and meditation CD’s have helped me balance and relax better. I highly recommend things by Stephen Halpern; specifically his Chakra and sleeping music.

Anyway, let me just give you a *cyber hug*. Thanks for continuing to be an inspiration and sharing things that work for you.

  10. Hi Britanie,
It’s Alexis Smart here. Thank you for sharing your story. I am really happy the Safe and Sound helped. Also just to respond to a few questions above…Alcohol free versions are available and are just as effective. The alcohol is only used as a preservative. Alcohol-free uses veg. glycerine as a preservative but is the same. And for the lady with the social anxiety, I highly recommend Wallflower.
    All the Best,

  11. Britanie, I love your blog and I always look forward to your posts about wellness remedies. I have been very stressed lately (partially due to long hours at the office) and have been feeling overwhelmed, physically and mentally exhausted, and suffering from migraines. First Aid Kit, Moon River, Personal Assistant, and Soul Purpose interest me, but LifeSaver totally describes me and I am a few minutes away from purchasing a bottle 🙂 I’m glad Safe and Sound is helping you and thank you so much for sharing your story!

  13. I’ve been trying everything to help my unbearable anxiety, agoraphobia, PTSD, and nervous stomach but nothing works fast or gives me noticeable results. I’m taking a stress shield herbal supplement but still haven’t noticed much of a difference. Thank you for sharing your story! I’m thinking about ordering safe and sound or peaceful warrior.
